Post by juancarniglia »

What do you think about this water tower? I have just started adding some details, textures and colors.

Hope you all like it.

That water tower looks pretty good. It’s not that like the original, and there are quite a few other models of the water tower, but that one does look pretty good. The dirt is nice also. A few things though.

1) Could you attach .png images for when people need to look at the detail?
2) The main cylinder used for the tank needs mesh smoothing, and could maybe be bigger also as ZxBiohazardZx said.
3) The frame underneath is nice, except I'm not shore about the squiggly snakelike metal strips on the edge. They break away from the functional simplicity that is visible on the rest of the structure.

I'd be interested to know how you made that fire. Its slightly 2d, but I think it looks really good. Fire along with a few other things, is very tricky to get right. Could you please translate the middle part of your post into English so it can be understood.

p.s. I'm off, I'll be back in a week, keep up the good work!

seru na to, protože mě to už nebaví a předělávat se mi to nechce!!! ..... it means, that I f*** it on, because I am lazy to make it again. Fire is made by Particle flow, so it is 3D.

Added some beams to break the monotony of the wall.
Added crates, toolboxes, tools and walkways in and around the depot.

juancarniglia: Yes, water tank is very small for water storage.
Wacki: Red building roof has no texture.
TagDaze: Consider using different color for each crate and barrel.

Hope comments not offend anyone. Your efforts and quality of work are appreciated.

the beams are fine but im wondering if you can slide them to the back so they match the roof (lowest points)

in the game train-depots = 1 tile, ship depot = 2tiles

so you have 2 tiles space for it

Remember there are 2 types of saucers in TTD one is the small one that looks like the one Wacki made and then there's the big one wich looks a lot different.

Here is the new version, slightly modified.

Enlarged the actual tank, and added a few details. Also fixed all vertical
girders to look more real.

This is a four-angles look, and also a PNG to look it up close.

I am having the following problem. I can't smooth the main tank. It is
a cylinder, and although I use the "smooth" option, or subdivide it, I still
get the same number of faces. Any ideas?

Greetings

In the end we will have three versions of all graphics because no one did recognize that the gfx he/she has made already someone other did before.
