4-way, 6-track junction

Post by steave »

Hi, I have a problem with creating a good junction between my two mainlines. I have one line going from the lower right to upper left and one that goes from lower left to upper right, both lines has 3 tracks in both direction. I have been searching around different wikis and the forums, but I have not been able to find any soloutions for 3 track junctions, the biggest I've found have only two tracks in each direction. Does anyone have any ideas?

An idea

Here is a suggestion for such a junction I have designed a long time ago, although it is rather large and makes use of long bridges and tunnels.

The main problem I have picked up is that it is difficult to properly balance the load before entering the junction.

Main advantages is:
* All tracks split before merging
* No sharp corners

Known issues:
* Load balancing
* Long tunnels and bridges
* Optimised for realistic acceleration

Maybe you can come up with something better even!

Sincerely,
G.A.S

Ouch...that's BIG...I hope I manage to copy that correctly....but thanks A LOT, there's no way I would have been able to build that up myself. A realy expensive junction, but it seem to be able to get the job done.
