You are right. At least the faster is under Linux without any window manager loaded. Just X with a console.honnza wrote:the problem is that the fast speed is as slow as the normal one on some PCs.

Some French guy tries to invent a steam powered balloon, but to do that, he had to improve the steam locomotive, so he invented a way to add water to it without having a turning wheel, but only using the pressure from the boiler. Today we know this as the injector pump and it was added to virtually all steam engines, yet the balloon never worked, but you are right about steam powered balloons and you picked the right century, but somehow I have a feeling that you didn't know thatDonoteat wrote:Why is no one thinking of planes in 1830? You could rope two or three hot air balloons together and suspend a passenger compartment between them and have steam-powered propellers!

I really think it's way too early.
Do you realize that from 1830 to 1850-60 It will be just about SShips
and horse pulled wagons?
After that we have some of the first american trains, but still
consider how long 1950 - 2000 takes... Making the game 4 times
longer would result in somewhat of a bore i think. From 1920+
the transport technology really evolves fast, but before that
it's quite calm...
