Well there is no food cargo in temperate, unless you're using an industry grf...

How about some screenshots?

you need an industry set for temperate that has a food industry chain in it.
That reminds me, why was food never put in UKRSi?

Hi, thanks for all the comments. I think I've figured out things - was thrown by the fact that the arctic has food rail wagons, but temperate doesnt. Pikkabird's trains go well with his UKRSI, as you'd expect. In temperate, his food factories produce goods not food, but unfortunately dont accept fish. However, I also have some other grf's, and have fisheries and food factories that do produce food. Towns do accept food. Here's my grf set cut down to the essentials
newgrf/newshipsw.grf
newgrf/cargosetw.grf
newgrf/newcargow.grf
newgrf/pb_ukrsi.grf
newgrf/nsignalsw.grf
newgrf/TTRS3w.grf
newgrf/canalsw.grf
newgrf/elrailsw.grf
newgrf/newstatsw.grf
newgrf/pb_ukrs.grf 0 3 1
newgrf/pb_av8w.grf
newgrf/tramtrkw.grf
I've got a good game going now, in temperate, thanks.

Slip Pikka twenty Australian dollars and see how quick the UKRSI gets a supermarket ;)

The newcargo grf, which I want for fisheries, activates the food.
A supermarket would be a great addition. Moreso, I'd like refrigerated rail wagons and Pikka's food factories to produce food.
It would be nice if town growth was stimulated by the four basics: passengers, mail, food and goods, along with "amenities" purchased by the company, with a simple single line in the cfg to replace the large number present at the moment. But that's another story.

I believe the newcargo.grf is notoriously outdated, which is why the UKRS can't carry its "food".

The decision not to have "food" in the UKRSI was entirely deliberate. However, donations are always welcome Dave. ;)

And to keep it simple. Pikka isn't in the game of hideously complicated grfs.

Harder to maintain as well as to use.

He has a life, sadly ;)

one suggestion on the topic of food, maybe when UKRH is released have UKRSI check if its loaded and have UKRH check that UKRSI is loaded and have the food chain introduced, and then there will definately be a drop off point for food.
