Grf Files for Mid Central Road & Rails Saved Game

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Louie Armstrong;

Now, talking about steak makes me hungry again, ha. (That's why I'm a little overweight.)

Mr. Jasperthecat1, below is my grf file, Sir. I hope you enjoy playing
"Mid Central Road & Rails" as much as I am. You ought to see my huge industrial RR lay out!
It's great. Also my HQ screenie. :wink:

Jim,

I can't get any of these to work! That is to say that they simply don't appear in the file listings to play/load.

Not sure what I'm missing... any advice appreciated.

Really enjoying the screenshots though!

Mr. Spaceman-spiff;

Sorry I overlooked you, Sir, since you were the last post on page #73, I guess I didn't
see your post. So, you've hit the age of 40? (I passed that too, Ugh!) Anyway, it's good
to hear from you again, my Friend.

Mr. Andsome, First, WELCOME to TT-Forums! We have a bunch of fun messing with the
new features that seem to appear almost every day, by a great group of wizards and geniuses.
We are lucky to have such a fine group of members. One or two of them will help you soon.
I don't know what to tell you, so, God bless them all as they solve your problem. :wink:

Mr. Draakon, Welcome also! And you joined on my birthday, so........Double Welcome!
Now, as Mr. Ameecher has posted, you've got it. And as for making good scenarios.
Many people has ask me that same question, a good many times, and my answers to them
are in the first several pages of my topic. This should answer your scenario question.
Should you have additional questions, please be specific and I'll try to help you, Sir. :wink:

Mr. Ameecher, I appreciate your help, Pal!

Trees

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Sleepie;

Thanks Man, for pointing out where to get the "trees" graphics. Here's a "screenie" from
one of my incomplete scenarios called "Cool Colorado", that's now going to be completed,
and will feature Ms. Sac's trees.......... As soon as I pull myself away from my latest game. :wink:

Heya Jim. Glad you had a fantastic birthday, and I see that your TT-Forums anniversary is coming up soon. (And mine! Just noticed that. :D - Edit from March 18 )

I was gone for a while due to some soul-searching and busyness in my life. The past year has been the busiest ever, what with relationships, school, vacations, surgery, and the upcoming event of moving to another country, I'm pretty much busy most of the time. Except, of course, for the next 3 weeks or so, wherein I'll have tons of free time. :D

Anyways, I'm looking forward to that Colorado Map. I generally like Colorado, but it's pretty boring. :lol:

Imagination! Here, you learn what it is to be human. You are a creator of order, of beautiful shapes and systems, an organizer of chaos.

Beloved Balkans

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Wile E. Coyote;

You probably thought I forgot about The Balkans, eh? Well, I haven't. In fact, I'm back to
working scenarios, (I've been playing TTD which I love,) but, it's back to work.
OK, the scenario I'm now trying to accomplish is called "Beloved Balkans".
This should look great with Ms. SAC's beautiful trees among the snow-capped
mountains. I'm inspired so, it should not take too much longer. Your great Serbian train set
or Mr. Blunck's European trains set should be very realistic in "Beloved Balkans".

Mr. Rudge, great to hear from you, my wonderful friend. And to take the time
to wish me Happy Birthday, is a true honor. I again thank you for giving me space to
exhibit my scenarios. You're a great person and friend! :wink:

Mr.Darkmast49, we do share a special day, though I bet my first birthday was way before yours, ha.

Mr. RPharazon, Hey, if you got some free time, we can always build another scenario
together, ol' Buddy, right? "Amazing Alberta" has 125 downloads, which
ain't too bad, you think? :)

Now, I need to get back to making the people of The Balkans proud, (I hope.)

Always,

As I already said in Raichase' screenshot thread, I'm glad that I could help you. Your work is very impressive and and let me consider to reanimate my ttdpatch installation to play with your great maps. (I'm playing with OTTD for about a year now.)
Anyways keep up your great work, I'm sure I'll 'borrow' some of your ideas in my own scenarios :wink:

Regards

Sleepie

hey jm i spotted some bug in your scenario, you somehow do the scenario with the game mod right?? but if you do that way there is year the same as you saved last, your newgrfs loaded and so on, what i suggest you to do, make the scenario ready and so on, move the scenario to another TTDP folder(just copy the old one to new folder) whic doesn't have any grf loaded, load your scenario, disable any grfs that your scenario has loaded and save again. If you dont know how to do it then you don't need do.

or

is it just me and my OpenTTD??

Jim makes his scenarios with TTDP and for TTDP. So if he uses any TTDP features or NewGRFs that are not supported by OTTD you can't load it or you get errors while playing. Maybe some of them are compatible with OTTD, I dunno/haven't tested it. So if you want to play with Jim's great maps just install TTDP and you'll have no problems :wink:

Mr. Draakon;

Actually I go to great lenghts to NOT mix my scenarios with the game mode, because it
greatly hinders me from making efficient scenarios. A 'tainted' scenario I usually destroy.

My, birthday friend, Mr. Sleepie, pretty well explained it. And thanks, Buddy, for the help. :wink:
Having said that, I appreciate your input, kind Sir.

Beloved Balkans

Post by Jim Powers »

Member & Friends;

I've just completed, (finally,) my latest scenario called "Beloved Balkans"!
The thing I like about this scenario is, the scenery is just beautiful with Ms. Sac's gorgeous
trees and I finally got Mr. Pikkabird team's great Total Town Replacement into my grfs.
file properly. Also I learned about The Balkans' resources and hopefully have captured
this 'beloved' section of Europe. :wink:

You'll be certain to enjoy laying RR tracks from the vast forests to the 12 or 13 cities. Or, to
bring the produce from the valley over the mountains to the people. Or even fish the
plentiful waters, bringing them to the food plants. And, there's even coal and oil that also
needs your services.

I've got Mr. Blunck's fine European train set installed, but, check out Mr. Wile Coyote's
Serbian train set if you wish and play " Beloved Balkans" today!

Always,
Jim Powers
