Indy 500

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. ISA;

You did a great job on your Indy 500 from my "Mid Central Road & Rails" scenario, and thus
it gave me an idea to make another layout, hopefully even improve on it some what. :)

Here's screenies.

Always,
Jim Powers

Isn't the Indy 500 a NASCAR race though? That would mean it's only driving in a circle, only corners to one side.

Yes, but afaik there is F-1 race too but they don't race on oval track! Inside the oval track is little track (half is oval and half track is with curves) with curves too!

My Busiest Airport

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Pug;

You're right about Indy 500 being NASCAR, but, I didn't know that they had to be only
on an oval track. Wow, I'm an American and even was on a local stockcar racing team for
a year, (didn't race, just painted the car,) yet, you taught me something. And, no, I've
never been to any Indy 500 races, which are the most popular in the States. Thanks
for the 'info'. :wink:

Below is a screenie of my busiest Airport which is in Chicago, Ill. And there's a lot of
traffic on the Freeway don't you think? :shock:

Always,
Jim Powers

O' Hara perhaps? Anyway, it's so busy, and so is my "T" shaped RR Station!

I know! It's a nice way to make an "underground" station! Looks good Jim :D

Ingenious. The sort of thing I could never come up with.
All my scenarios are for TTDPatch. I learned a long
time ago that when you find a 'nitch' in life, stay with it
Wise words indeed. I'm quite a simpleton and do like lock-and-load OTTD (this is exemplified by the fact that over a year after first encountering OTTD, I have finally ventured into NewGRFs...). The Patch always seemed quite a daunting prospect...but your scenarios do make it tempting to try.
so, why change?
I take your point. I would just love to see what you would do with a 2048x2048 map!

All I can say in closing is - keep up the good work. Even if I don't play the scenarios, seeing your work is just as satisfying. It is one of the reasons why this, along with Raichase's screenshot thread, is one of my "must views".

My latest Saved Game "Powers Road & Rail Express&qu

Post by Jim Powers »

My. AlexW;

I do see your point, Sir, and also thank you for your more then kind words concerning
my scenarios. This goes for Mr. Raichase, and Mr. M3henry also. Thank you, my friends! :)

Since I'm obsessed right now with my latest Saved Game "Powers Road & Rails Express Co.",
from my last scenario "Mid Central Road & Rail", I thought maybe at this point of the game ,
that it would be time to share with those interested, but don't really know how yet to make
Subways sucessfully. I have my RR layout 95% underground, with only Passenger/Mail
to all my cities,
at the present time. This is what I call Phase I.

Phase II is for Industry, and although I already have a very successful Highway/Freeway layout
with mainly busses between all my cities, I also have trucks taking livestock/wheat to market,
at 2 places. Soon I'll start on Industry in full force. :wink:

Below is my saved game and screenies.

Always,
Jim Powers

It's nice to see that in my recent moments of unhappiness I can still smile at the thought of Jim Powers and his many saved games!

As always, kudos Jim.

Birthday

Post by Jim Powers »

Mr. Dave Worley;

It's always good to hear your original and usually funny remarks, my good Pal.
BTW, to day (March 11th) is my birthday. OUCH!, UGH! :?

I'm also playing the heck out of "Mid Central Road & Rails". It is a great scenario, (though I'm
not wanting to boast.) But, It's totally ideal for great RR layouts, either below or above
ground. Will send screenies later, gotta go to work.

Always,
Jim Powers

Happy Birthday Jim. Always happy to see you here with your great scenarios. :D
Imagination! Here, you learn what it is to be human. You are a creator of order, of beautiful shapes and systems, an organizer of chaos.

Congratulations Mr. Powers. Now, if you are done playing your little scenario, perhaps you can take a look at this guy's work. It is nothing short of breathtaking, unfortunately it isn't that good to play a game on (yet).

Dear Friends;

I thank you for your congrats. You make me feel like living a few more years.
Thanks a bunch! :D

Where you been Mr. RPharazon? I haven't heard from you in a long time, Sir,
so it's good your back with us TTD addicts.

Mr. Raichase, you'd have a 'sure bet' if you bet I was a few more days (years) over
25, my ol' Buddy, quite a few years!

Mr. Pug, I did look at the man's scenario. It's big and I believe it's OTTD. Thanks
for sharing with us, Sir.

Mr. Dave Worley, that's just what I said "Oh dear, it's my birthday!"

Mr. Louie Armstrong, I AM well and I did have a good day, Big Guy. In fact, I went
to dinner with my wife, (where she chose), and the steak was pretty good too.
(That's saying something for the food here in Israel.)

Mr. Wile E. Coyote, you're a fine friend and I appreciate you, and, all your encouragement.

Mr. Two5Kid, though I don't believe I know you, I DO thank you, Sir, for the 'congrats'.

Now, back to my wild TTD game (literally)!

Always,
Jim Powers
