yes, i used ttdxc, because ttdpc.exe wouldnt start for me (cursor shows that it's loading, while Task Manager shows 0% CPU and such). but solving that is another topic - not that i'd complain if someone would help me wif that too.
anyway. enhanced GUI wont start for me. along with it, i cant use keybindings (key shortcuts) either. i also tried maprefresh=1, and maprefresh=on, and similar stuff, but no it wont work. the Command Prompt reports it as an invalid switch (i assume that it's because enhancegui didnt even start itself, but that's just a wild guess). with maprefresh, i also tried to use commandline, but i guess it's exactly same as putting it directly into cfg. also, i dont get the draggable dynamite - those damned trees! you kill one, three more appear... i just like the cleaner looks, i guess. it's only interface that doesnt work, though. other switches like "build on slopes/shorelines" or "multihead engine" work correctly. oh, one thingy! ive read somewhere in Manual that enhancegui is what lets railroad station display whole 7x7 set - and i CAN build at 7x7. but, for instance, depot menu wasn't widened to display 14/18 units.

so...

i dont know what to do next. i have a feeling that i missed out something rather simple, but i still cant see it. thank you in advance, too!

Better get the latest nightly, a "stable" version hasn't been released for a looooong time.

Apart from that, you mention switches that are newer than 2.0r1, so they can't be possibly known in that version.

Alternatively try the latest beta version, which is much more stable than the state-of-the-art Nightlies.
One after one, by the star-dogged Moon,
Too quick for groan or sigh,
Each turned his face with a ghastly pang,
And cursed me with his eye.

Solved. Always get a Beta version, instead of Nightly ones.

thank you! it actually worked! i downloaded the one from the main page - i didnt know they call them nighties, and that it's something ELSE im looking for. oh, and the reason that TTDPC didnt start for me, is that it has shown me a messagy saying "couldnt open cfg" because frankly, it's not even defined yet, not on the first run. imagine my face when i saw 20 instances of it, in Task Manager! hehe. thank you for the really quick help. im off to play nows. over and out.

I know it's an easy mistake to make, but it's important to not mix things up :)

The stable version is 2.0rev1, which is what you had. Although it IS stable, it's not very happy when you pair it with configurations such as the one you put forward; nor does it like the latest grfs very much.

Desolator suggest you download the latest nightly but these can be a bit more complex and are less stable; some may not even start at all. These are for the more advanced user or someone who wants to experience the most cutting edge of TTD features which may not be perfect yet.

aahz77 has it right in telling you to download the beta version. These are a compromise of new and stable that are intended to be test versions for the next stable and are more stable than the nightlies. They're what 90% of users are using.

People who are new to TTDP are informed to upgrade from 2.0 rev 1 at any rate, which you have done.

Of course, ultimately, the decision as to which one to use is totally up to you. The Beta is probably best for the new user.

Anyhow, have fun playing the game and be sure to come back if you have any more trouble. :D
