Click and with dynamite tool

Post by Andrex »

It would be great to have in TTDPatch the same feature from OpenTTD that allows to click and drag to demolish stuff, and a similar feature to level terrain as well. I wonder if there are serious restrictions that prevent those features from being implemented.

There is indeed a very serious problem preventing this from being implemented.

Specifically, it would be a complete waste of time, what with it already having been done and all.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

As for levelling terrain, the serious restriction is that none of the developers are bored enough to implement it.

The click and drag to remove stuff feature is a waste of time?? Then the OpenTTD developers have been wasting time since they started working on it, is that you are saying?

Sorry but my english is not good enough, I didn't quite understand the last part you typed. Let me remember you that my native language is spanish, so try to explain yourself in simplier terms. (this is not the 1st time I have problems interpreting your posts)

"what with it already having been done and all" is an emphatic form of "it has been done".

Now I get it... it's on the nightlies versions. I wonder how long will it be before an alpha/beta can be released with those great enhancements.

Well, yes, but it's also in 2.5. I think it was added around the same time as the irregularstations switch, and it's part of the enhancegui switch, which I can't *imagine* that you have turned off.
