"file is corrupted"-message at the program-start
When i start the 050-RC4, i get the message "Your 'nsignalsw.grf' file is corrupted or missing!". That's correct, because i have changed this graphics-file with an own graphics-file.
With the release candidate 2 i got not this message; with 4 i get it every time, when i start the game. It's a good idea, to test the files and give a message about errors. One test or one message should be enough.
I have changed the "trg1r.grf"-file, too. For that i get not a message.

Using Win9x? It doesn't work with them! Use XP or Linux. (Please read the news on the web page to see why, or similar posts in the forums of an older date!)
I receive similar messages under Win9x and the missing languages but not any message under XP.

What on earth does the presence or absence of MSLU have to do with changed nsignalsw.grf and trg1r.grf files?
Or has it somehow managed to escape your attention that it's only the nightlies that refuse to work on 9x/Me, and that the RCs work just fine?

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Danmack couldnt get one of the rcs to work on 9x [/ot]

You should not change any graphics that come with openttd (the default .grf files). Instead use another newgrf file to change it and put it into the [newgrf-static] section. OpenTTD is perfectly valid to warn you, as it can crash your game (and you (in general) would come to us reporting a bug that we have nothing to do with).Hansi Holzweg wrote:When i start the 050-RC4, i get the message "Your 'nsignalsw.grf' file is corrupted or missing!". There is a warning about the trg1r.grf file, but it's only shown in debugging mode (-d).
The Win9x problem is totally unrelated. Please post here or send me a mail if it doesn't work. I have tested it both on win95 and win98 and they both work there.
