From what ive read, no. They suggest to turn it off, set it to the highest level available. Its just asthetic anyway (looks good IMO). why do you wanna turn it off?

just used to it not being there i suppose, prefer lookign at green to white, just being a bit of a luddite really,
i like working on moutanious terrains but not snow covered ones, just personal prefernce, but the ability to pbs and other things is great so ill just get used to it i spose unless there are any ideas floating about out there.

all best

It doesn't really look good (yet). There are many industries that lack snow versions, and the snowy trees and town buildings look out of place in the Temperate climate.

At least the snowy buildings etc are above the snowline, though. It really looked horrid to have snowy landscape, and non-snowy buildings.

Note: Snowline is hardset at first generation of the terrain. So if you generate it with snow at height 8, it is height 8 forever in that game. Changing the snowheight up does not make the terrain below go green again.
