A friend of mine had downloaded Windows 2003 .NET Standard Server, and I tested it out. It's very good, easy server configurations and so on, and TT runs on it. It takes an extra step, but with TTDPatch it can run. The extra step is adding dplay.dll in the TT directory. Because that file is missing in Windows 2003 (unknown reason), you have to get one for Windows XP. I've included an attachment with the XP version of dplay.dll, which is working fine.
Yeah, it's DirectPlay, used for playing supported games over networks and Internet. I have no idea why's it's missing, since Win2003 is featuring DirectX 8.1. But that's why a triple boot is working, I simply copy missing files from my XP partition.
any versions newer than XP use dlls though. That's because 2003 is just Windows XP with newer files, and some minor improvements, plus all these new features, such as Ghosting, .NET server, ISS 6, and so on
If you know what you're doing, you can alter the copying animation with ResHack. Simply convert that GIF to and AVI and put into the file in Windows that contains the original image. I don't know excactly which file, but it should be something like SHELL32.DLL or EXPLORER.EXE. I want to try it, but if something goes wrong, I have to reinstall, and I don't like reinstalling
