Sprite request: "autoreplace" button (new size)
Moderator: Graphics Moderators
I'm not good at all drawing sprites, but I got this idea and after a few minutes in Gimp I had something that doesn't look horrible. It would be much better with some shading and I bet someone can do the ring better etc.

I think the sprites would look better with the recycle option on the bottom right, it makes the vehicle items more recognizable.

4 diffrent pic. Choose yourself.

The arrow (up) is good as it symbolizes an upgrade, which is what replace exactly is. Bjarni however doesn't really like the style of the arrow. Do you perhaps have some other style for it? Just for comparison?

Just a small question beside:
I noticed during drawing the gfx that there is a bigger button in the buttonbar.
The blue lines have the same size.
Is the bigger button intended?
I'm asking cause it looks a bit weird.

The larger buttons resize with the window. They can be the same size.skidd13 wrote:Just a small question beside:

I know, but I read in the code that the upper 2 buttons should have the same size.Brianetta wrote:The larger buttons resize with the window. They can be the same size.
Right??
Code: Select all
/* Divide the size of DEPOT_WIDGET_SELL into two equally big buttons so DEPOT_WIDGET_SELL and DEPOT_WIDGET_SELL_CHAIN will get the same size.

Sometimes space available is not a multiply of 3 and then the "left over" are left in the middle button.skidd13 wrote:I know, but I read in the code that the upper 2 buttons should have the same size.Brianetta wrote:The larger buttons resize with the window. They can be the same size.

Comments lie.

Out of these I would pick either 1C or 2D. Can't really decide. Perhaps 2D with the intermittent arrow symbolizes upgrade better. But it is bigger and obscures more of the vehicle. Could we see these two for the other 3 vehicle types? Then we'll decide which one is better in the overall view.

I like 2D too. So here are the both in full usage.Darkvater wrote:Out of these I would pick either 1C or 2D. Can't really decide. Perhaps 2D with the intermittent arrow symbolizes upgrade better. The other icons I've made are at the exactly same position, for constancy they should have the same position.hatebreed wrote:I like the buttons, but I really think the vehicle could be moved a pixel lower-left and the arrow a pixel to the upper-right, 'cause there remains a lot of border space anyway. Nice job!
The reason for the placement is I don't want to hit the button-outlines in clicked mode. Icons growing over button-outlines are awful.
