Clone train and one other suggestion

Post by WWTBAM »

Is it possible to make clone train be a bit switch so the user can chose what the default order coppying/shareing setting is. The idea is that you could have it as it currently is or the reverse, cloneing a train automatically shares the orders, and when control is pressed it only coppies them.

My friend and I were wondering, if it was possible to allow maps that are double the normal size, nothing in between, just double sized maps. Please dont flame me for the last one, it wasn't my idea. We just thought it might be easier than any sized maps.

If you have cloned a train and wants its orders to be copied in stead of shared, the only thing you need to do is to CTRL-click the reset button.
So in my opinion it's not neccessary to change the current mode of operandus.

but with my idea you dont need to controll click unless you want to share.

And how often do you not want to share?
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

The problem with that idea is Roboboy, is that the ctrl state is not sent at the moment in multiplayer, so you would never be able to share orders.
(Or you shouldn't be able to use the control key in multiplayer from what I read in ttdpatch code). :(

And in singleplayer it is simple enough to reset anyway. ;)
So I'm quite happy with how it works currently. :)

[edit] Also the control key is reset because it causes clonetrain to fail when building the consist.

This was the case in 1.9, but it has been fixed a long time ago, since 2.0.1 alpha 10.

Oh sorry, Csaboka, I was always told the control key state was never sent in multiplayer.

Require too much work != Impossible.

Isn't the dev-team working on a new map array that might make it possible?
