... not next patch ... only new TPS....
(this things are two separate tools TP for TTD, TPS for TP)
and why TPS is slow in your opinion ?
I downloaded this tool ... and my opinion
- it is 1.5 MB !!! [TPS is 300-500 kb]
- you need download it again when new TTDPatch is realesed [with TPS you only downloading 2-5 kb update]
- some options are unavabile (like changing 'signcheat') [TPS can recognize obosolete switches and not introduced yet]
- I can save odd values ... like 'disasters -1')[in TPS you can't]
- I can change edit my own creepy options.. just enter 'asdfasd' instead of 'Yes')[in TPS you can't]
- Hints in status bar not working)[in TPS works correctly]
- everything depends on author )[in TPS you can customize many things and also change TTD options]

Re: Tools
Here is the tool you have requested. TTDX Configurator. Totally fool-proof program (not calling u a fool, no).Dave wrote:Hi, Im looking for a better tool to change the settings of the patch.
Is there another one apart from the one here?

Re: Tools
Yes .... indeed it is very good tool ... and nice looking .... but I is very rarely releasing .... (the best would be if it be released when new switch is released) and sometimes I don't have full configurations (as I want) for example with planecrashcontrol ....Andrex wrote:Here is the tool you have requested. I put here a quote from Josef''s post from newsgroup:
any other option is option that TPS could crateing those backup EXE's but then I need to created grfcodec plugin for it
.
So TPS could manage graphics if there would be backuped EXE files ....Josef at newsgroup wrote: That's why I put "undo" in quotes. It will just restore the original TTD
graphics, but only for those graphics that its corresponding exe file
changed. So it's not really an "undo", but rather a "restore to original
graphics".
To do that, you'd need to:
- run grfdiff -n to see what sprites are different
- run grfdiff <new.grf> <old.grf> -x -o newgrf.exe
- run grfdiff <old.grf> -l <spritenums> -x -o undo_newgrf.exe
For <new.grf> and <old.grf> you substitute the filename of the modified
and backup grf files, respectively. <spritenums> must be the number of
sprites that "grfdiff -n" reported as changed.

.
