Don't know if the question has been already raised, but I'd like to know if is possible to use DB set with ECS.

Yes, though you may or may not have appropriate container vehicles for each cargo.

And If your cargo of choice isn't the same as the original cargo intended for the wagon, it won't look right. Colours will be mixed, etc.

For example: Transporting vehicles will still be in a Goods Van instead of on a transporter.

How can I know which vehicle is needed, for example, to carry sand if in the "refit" option this type is not cited?

A cargo not showing up in the refitting list wouldn´t be available at all.
