Project Generic Stations
I dont have a drop down list to change the type of station I use in OpenTTD.
I have installed the .grf files and edited the .cfg to match. The files are appearing in the in game grf list but i cant change the type of station from the default.
Is there something else I need to do? a switch in the cfg file for instance.

Newstations is only in the latest nightlies. (http://nightly.openttd.org)
Put the GRF files into the /data/ folder, and enter the .grf names (no /data/ folder or /newgrf/ folder needed) under [newgrf] at the bottom of openttd.cfg.
When ingame, the station GUI should be like this: http://wiki.openttd.org/index.php/Image ... onsgui.png

Here's a pic of my cfg file with a couple of the new stats entered.
They appear in the in game GRF list but the GUI is still not active.
Maybe i'm not installing the nightly properly?
I download the file (OTTD-win32-nightly-r5595.zip) and then extract it to the ottd directory, allowing it to replace files where needed. Then I run OTTD as normal. Is this correct or have I missed something?
Thanks for your help - this is really starting to bug me.

Ignore the newgrf list in the menu; it doesnt work... so even if a newgrf is correctly loaded and working, it will still appear with a red dot. (Personally I would like to see the whole option disabled until this is fixed, but thats unlikely).b34n1e wrote:Maybe i'm not installing the nightly properly?

When you try to place a station, it should show a dialog like pic1. It shows the set (default station), and the stations in the set.
Click on the set drop down (at the top). It shows the list of available newgrf station sets you have added to your .cfg. Pic 2.
I then clicked on Silverline (one of the PGS sets). It then shows the available stations in that set. Pic 3.
You should get this with any nightly. If not, delete your config.cfg, and let the nightly create a new one. Then cut/paste your old newgrf list back in.

Tried letting the nightly create a new CFG, still had no effect (picture of the available GUI is attached). I think i may be using the nightly wrong. Am i correct in thinking i just download the zip file and then extract it to the ottd directory - also should i be updating from version 4.7 or 4.8?
I get the feeling that i'm missing something really obvious here, thanks for all the help.

I also have a problem with the generic staions.
I have installed openttd 4.0.8 and copy the files from the nighly build 6239 over the openttd folder.
I have added this lines in the oppenttd.cfg file
The game is showing that I am playing r6239, but in the game I only have name on the default stations. The new one I can choose but the name are blank, so it is a bit difficult. What can be wrong??

Code: Select all

#Generic staions
brickfreightw.GRF
citystationsw.GRF
japstatw.GRF
modernsuburbanw.GRF
platformsw.GRF
ruralw.GRF
suburbanw.GRF
Same here.
I am not sure if the problem is only with PGS.
Anyway, it has already been fixed in r6289.

I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you. Spoilers and bodykits are how much of the wall you take with you. Rollcages and windownets are how much of a mess you leave on the wall.
