Game slow on high-end machine?

Post by elmuadibo »

Hi!
This is my first post on the forum.
I have a (more or less) high end machine and Locomotion runs like in a 486 =-/
My system is a 2.0GHz P4, 1024 RAM, Radeon 9600 w/ 256MB, WinXP Home.
Two years ago I played Locomotion on this same machine with an older video card (an GeForce4) and ir ran greatly, wich makes me suspect of a software issue.
Recently I installed Kaspersky IS 6 and WindowBlinds. I tried the game with the last loaded and unloaded, with no difference.
Any help on this matter?
Thanks in advance

I have a similar system spec upstairs and don't have a problem. So I think it is more likely a software conflict.

actually, now that i think about it, there have been times where it was runnign very slow/blocky/laggy. make sure you don't have a virus scan going, those will slow anything down. also, any programs running in the background have the potential to slow anything down.

Hi!
All solved, folks.
I raised the process priority on Task Manager and it worked VERY smoothly. Seems like Kaspersky was bothering it while it was running.
Thanks for all your help.
