just seeing who else is on this topic...I'm kinda interested in creating templates for those who want them (they're very helpful for begginers)

I was also wondering if it were possible to "release" a ".rar" file with all the current junctions etc as tmpl files (in the .rar file)?

sorry about then sudden addition of junctions

why? :o Everyone can add a junction! I am only the one who cares about the global style of this savegame.

@Salvo_guy: with which version is the savegame created? I can't open it with current svn! Update the savegame or send me a zip file via pn with the templates.

Good point, but i would perfer zip cause of global usage of all OS!

Savegames of MiniIN are not usefull for global usage. Thats why it is called MiniIN. Post template files and I'll add them to the savegame.

erm... don't run 0.4.8-RC1:

1. its an RC not an official release.
2. none of the secondary industries produce any kind of goods.
you'd be better off using a nightly from before yapf(not that YAPF is bad, its just that its more stable from before YAPF).

@Salvo_guy
1. Most of your work has very narrow edges!! Thats slows the trains down.
2. The 3 to to way switch exists already
3. Use the basic game for saving
4. unsharpend the edges in the current savegame

I think until 0.4.8 is not RC any more we'll stay at SVN.
If 0.4.8 is official stable there will be bigger changes, cause of a total redesign of the savegame.

Here are the idea's
  • 2048x2048 map
  • naming rules @ the isles.
    • upper edge: type + difficulty level (*simple* coverleaf)
    • left edge: size in squares(10 x 15)
    • right edge: track config (4 x 2) = 4 lines go into the junction and 2 tracks per line
    • lower edge: slow downs bg = bridge; tn = tunnel; up ; dn = down ; cn = sharp corner
  • place simmilar junctions together
  • build up a testing ground where the player can test the diffrent junctions.

See i play without realistic accelerations... so corners don't bug me... thus all designs are narrow... (and have sharp corners...) otherwise designs would b huge...

Hmm, did not see the poll before it finished, but this savegame is definitely useful.

Just a note if someone wants to create an archive with .tmpl files from the junctions:

1. Current MiniIN version templates differ from current Trunk. (we need to wait for RichK to apply the current MiniIN update for copy&paste)
[if you compile miniIN yourself, and apply the updated copypaste.patch available in the MiniIN-Thread, the MiniIN.tmpl will be compatible with TRUNK.tmpl]

2. The .tmpl format will change in future(stations will come!). So you will have to redo your work later.

But nevertheless a template repository with
-images,
-attributes,
-usesful patch settings [realistic acceleration],

would be great :)

Btw, great to see some people are actually using this patch.

@rens2Sea:
Okay those "load balancers" are allready in the save game...
and a junciont as massive as that... imo... losses money for you... (i stick to short routes personally)
And as we just finished discussing don't use miniIN's use the SVN

@Frostegen:
It is a brilliant patch, it has helped me greatly with designing new junctions (using very small templates to create larger ones (not massive ones tho)

THX

P.S SVN is that the nightly?

SVN is that the nightly?
SVN is a version control system. SVN holds the information about every change in the source. You can fet the newest version with a SVN client. The nightlys are a checkout from SVN every evening, that get compiled and zipped.

The SVN version consists of the current source. The nightly consists of the source of last night. That is the reason why it is called nightly. But at least they are in normal cases compatible!

*THX*

New savegame is @work. I'll post it later.
