Well that was very much to the point!

I don't mind it and don't see the problem with it. Isn't it just easy enough to avoid reading an old topic if you feel you don't want to?

if topic is last post in the topic is one month old ... stop digging it with replaying .... you can dig it if you have another question connected with this topic

If a thread's no longer interesting, it will die out. So what's the point of bringing it back to life? What seem to be the most popular topics on here are as old as the hills.

Well I dig up one once and a while: my topic about apple movies
It seems so stupid posting new topics every time I found a new movie interesting

Would it not be more annoying if someone were to post a thread on a topic that had died, just to avoid bringing the old one back to life. Probably takes up more room in the database that way as well (although that only seems to have any affect when backups happen and Owen isn't here). So long as people don't just go doing it pointlessly and feel that it is a constructive addition I think it's fine.

It's not so bad if you dig up an old topic for a reason - eg, you have some new information on a problem or something, but please do not dig up an old topic for the sake of it, or if it's really not all that important.

Ashley has did that many times for the joy (I guess) and it is quite annoying. So if you do have a point to make, I'm sure we'd all appreciate to hear it.

C'mon people, there's much better stuff to do than dig through old topics, start something new, be a pioneer, don't just confuse us. It hurts the heads of people like me, I haven't been here that long, and today I find myself checking dates on each post to make sure it's recent and I'm not replying to a bunch of twaddle! I realise by now this is a fair few hours old but everyone else has had their input, I don't wanna be left out now!

Well I don't think I've gone topic digging yet  I only really find it annoying if the digger answers a question... here I'll give an example (no offence to whoever did this).

In the TT2 wishlist thread i added something like this:
I think electrified would be good, blah
Than about 2-3 months later I got:
Electrified railway is out now in the latest patch
