I've been following this discussion, and I think that having a third-rail track type that can be shared by steamers and diesels would be a very much needed improvement to TTDPatch.

Even in the FRSet we are planning to introduce 3rd rail engines. But they were actually engines that had both 3rd rail shoes and pantos. So, ideally, these engines should be running on both catenary and 3rd-rail track types, and built on both depot types.
The best thing would be to have these engines run with pantos up when on catenary track, and with pantos down when on 3rd rail tracks. (different sets of sprites would be drawn).

And diesels and steamers should be able to run on any track type (unelectrified, catenary, or 3rd rail).

I believe this is impossible right now... any plans for development? It would be a great addition many sets would extensively use.

In the future, the Italian set will include a threephase catenary system, so such a feature would solve that problem as well.

I also think this would be a great idea, but please don't let my small opinion affect your lives heh.

If it's possible to do, it'd be great if you could :P

I might be able to cook up some crappy code in TTDPatch to allow selecting what classes of vehicles are allowed on what track types, and so forth. I know roughly where the code is to do that, it's in elrails.

That's a 'might', I haven't fiddled with patch code in a long while, and the last time I was fiddling with that section of code, I didn't have too much success, might have a better run this time, don't know. Can't make any promises.

The Class 180 is named the 'Adelante' and is operated by First Great Western out of London Paddington.

Edit: Are we gonna start on a tracking table or something so the budding artists can get some drawing done? :P

That Adelante is mine - the same as in old v0.3. I've got (a bit ;)) better at graphics since I drew that! I'd be happy to do some drawing/dig up some old BR graphics - I've got quite a collection - though not all of them are mine.

I'd also be a fairly good source of information from the Modernisation plan onwards, particularly good on privatisation (1995+) if you need it.

I didn't see this before, but yes, Aegir, if you could - that would be awesome. I have no graphical talent, nor coding knowledge - I have no idea why I'm leading this set, but whatever. :P

Is this about right? (I forgot how long the roof should be in | view when the _ view is 32 pixels, so I just tried something..)

speaking from a logical view point, shouldn't it be 32 pixels?
If it's 32 _ way, then it should be the same in I way

It's 25? Oh yes... 7 pixels for the front view and 18 pixels for the roof..

Mine was 27, so here is the updated one: (Does it look like a BR 60?)

It doesn't look much like a Class 60, sorry. :?

The livery doesn't look right (if you're doing Loadhaul, it's orange and black, not yellow and blue - the orange on the sides is different from the yellow on the front). Also, I think you've got the nose sloping back at the bottom far too much. On the real thing it's barely noticable - it's lower part of the nose is practically vertical. It's exaggerated on your reference picture because of the strange angle.

I TRIED to shorten up the nose a bit, but I don't know how to do that on / and \ view.. anyways, are the colors better this way?
