Thermodude... You've given me an idea...
2x MagLev rings around the outside edge of the map... with counter-running MagLevs then just build a link into any towns it passes by...
if the trains are 10 blocks long, that's a helluva lot of passengers and even more $$$!
you could also do it running four systems, dividing the map into 4 quarters...
going to cost a small mint to install and set up... but goodness... think of the profit!!
Mission for the day started...

I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
Does anyone actually use the AI anymore? Is there any point?

All 7? I find that by the turn of the millennium on the game that I want to buy out all of the AI to develop my game further.

If you only allow the AI to build RVs, they are very good at building up many cities with busses etc. That helps a lot later in the game when you need places to deliver goods and whatnot. Instead of running and maintaining my own bus services at a loss for a couple of years to develop cities, I let the AI do that.
I change that by changing those variables in the patch config right?

Does anyone know if there are plans to improve on the ships too?

There is another ship set in the works yes. For details you'll have to wait as it's in the early planning stages right now

A little update, mainly to the AI. The AI is now much more limited in what locomotives it will use, and they now use their own special freight wagons which will automatically update over the years. Hopefully this will make it more competitive, and make their trains seem more realistic.
Things required before an official release (or which need working around if they're not going to happen):
1) Bugs with articulated cargo wagons fixed.
2) Wagon retirement fixed.
3) Refit callback run on wagon purchase (for AI).
4) Autoreplace second heads correctly reversed.
5) Callback 36 for running costs (for maglev, possibly).

It should upgrade okay. I don't think you've got much hope for monday as I'm waiting for the TTDP 2.5 final, but I don't think too much will change from here.orudge wrote:Just wondering, will I be able to take this GRF and stick it on top of my old one and have existing saved games (v2.3) "upgrade" alright with a Cht: ResetVehicles? hi, i think that the ukrsi is the no1 industry set, because its graphics are inkeeping with the existing ones and it is not too complicated. i had an idea when i saw the advent of roadside truck stations,
Waste Vectors
rubbish/garbage/trash (woteva) --> landfill
town -----> recyclables -----> Recycling plant -----> plastic,steel (or just recycled materials) -----> factory -----> goods -----> town
if you had plastic this could be added to the UKRSI set
it would involve adding a few rubbish trucks (refittable to recyle trucks) and ;
garbage + recyclables - carried by the same trucks as grain,rail and sea and air
this collection would increase your town rating and promote town growth
