How properly installing new trains without loosing any?
Hello fellow TTD'ers,
Question about managing the train engine & wagons list
Got it all sorta mixed up maybe some of you know a good way to the trick;
Got a saved temperate scenario (Looping at Year 2070) with TTDPATCH 1.5,
In this scenario I have conventional rail and monorail tracks. I have persistent engines enabled so I have the still running locs available as well as all optional wagons.
So far so good.
Installed latest TTDPATCH 1.9.1 Alpha 33, everything OK.
Now I want to install electrified railways and the tempsetp.grf, (especially the ICE and Thalys), they will both install however I always end up with missing trains (i.e.trains that are still running in the game) or missing wagons (monorail wagon types mainly), in other words the list is stuffed up.
I've tried different installing scenarios, have reset the year to 1990, first convert to monorail (to enable the electried railways) then Reloadengines and vice versa but I just always end up with missing wagons or trains.
Anybody?
Regards, Maarten ,The Netherlands.
P.S. Joseph Drexler, thanx mate for all the effort you took for enhancing the game.

Hello,
Heeeeh weer een Hollander erbij!!
Maybe you can try: "cht: allengines" (without the "'s). As far as I know I only play new games WITH!!!!! those sets so I don't have that problem.

Hallo Dinges, ja mien klompen staon in de kast..<gg>
I have tries Cht: AllEngines, it exactly does what it says, but it doesn't give me the monorail wagons back and I especially want these for their bigger payloads..
For some reason the index is stuffed up or something..
I feel there's a way to do it but it has something to do with the proper sequence of setting things up..
I have put my life into this game..<ggggg>
Cheers.

Hi All,
Yes, switched both tempset(p), btw I run the DOS version.
Did some attempts yesterday evening and I think I have a work-around.
As I said, I use conventional rail and monorail (Sorry to all maglev fans but I dislike the maglev tracks so I don't use them at all) then I switched on electrified rail, converted all conventional tracks to monorail (Cht: Tracks 1 0). What happens then is that the X2001 loc (my fav monorail cargotrain loc
) doesn't show up in the monorail or conventional rail depots but only in maglev depots as well as all other monorail trains.
That means that the loc isn't available on the tracks it runs (monorail tracks).
Switching UnifiedMaglev on/off doesn't help.
The work-around I use is that I manually rebuild
all cargo-tracks where my X2001 is running into maglev (looking then like monorail since I used electrified railways, can U still follow me ? <ggg>) .
Have done this, I can service/rebuild any X2001, after have done this I convert them into conventional rail tracks with Cht: Tracks 0 2, each time when I want to service them I have to convert them back to maglev with Cht: Tracks 2 0.
It works, but I would like these locs to be available in the conventional train depots what is the case if I convert to electrified railway without having loaded tempset(p).grf.
Any comments welcome.
Cheers,
Maarten.

To be short: Convert all tracks to monorail with electried railways enabled will make both conventional and monorail trains available in their respective depots, however when I do this procedure together with tempset(p).grf enabled (the TGV, Thalys) my monorail trains are only available in maglev depots, so I cannot service them anymore?
I think/hope I put it clear this time <ggg>
Regards,
Maarten.
