[Req] Single-way Tram track
I'm not very good in modding, so I want to ask somebody.
So, in Hungary (where I live), there are a lot of single way tram tracks, because they hadn't got enought place to build 2 ways, or they didn't want a very busy route, so they built only one way, etc. and the trams when they go to the vehicle depot (or how can i say), they go on a single way track. So I want it in Loco too, but I don't know why. It is possible, or not?

I'm not sure if this is possible, my knowledge of how the trams work in lomo are limited, but i always make a complete loop so this would probably need to be incorporated into a single way tramline.wyctor wrote:I'm not very good in modding, so I want to ask somebody.

i almost want to guess that is controlled in the EXE not the dat.
the best solution i can think of is reconfigure your trains to use narrow guage track. only problem is, you cant lay that on roads.

mh to remember the wiki..
Variable:trackpieces
From LocoWiki
This bitmask controls what pieces are available for the track, trackmod, roadmod or train station.
stationtrackpieces and curvetypes are exactly the same.
0x00 diagonal - Diagonal piece
0x01 widecurve - Wide curve, 45°, 2x3 (Normal Train Tracks)
0x02 mediumcurve - Medium curve, 90°, 3x3
0x03 smallcurve - Small curve, 90°, 2x2
0x04 tightcurve - Tight curve, 90°, 1x1 (Narrow Guarge, Roads and Trams)
0x05 normalslope - Normal slope, up/down, 1x2
0x06 steepslope - Short slope, up/down, 1x1 (Narrow Guarge, Roads and Trams)
>>>>> 0x07 bit_7 - Trackpieces for the railway to run on just on side of a tile (like a single tramtrack). It seems that this is not fully implemented though, slopes can be build per side, but Locomotion does not take any tiles to display them.
0x08 slopedcurve - Sloped curve, up/down, 90°, 2x2
0x09 sbend - S-Bend, 2x3
0x0A bit_A - Allow switches and junctions
for sloped and curved bridges go to disabledtrackcfg.
not sure if it works, tough

that sounds like to many trams. maaybe make more then one route? a few switch tracks and they can take differant routes.Locoplayer wrote:Well, why couldn't you, I honestly know nothing about modding, but seeing as there is a one way road... why not tram track? Or what about tram track signals. to keep traffic flowing the right way, I hate when my tram's get close together and never make any money...

I was thinking of asking if the same thing was possible. Its a bit restrictive having to build double tracks.
Say for example you wanted to 'ring' an area of the city, or have a small branching off of a main track and have the trams going only one way, its a bit daft having double track right?
I know its only aesthetic, but in truth its realistic.

OK... well, i think a cosmetic solution is better than none at all... so:
at the moment you have two tram tracks like this:
====>=====
====<=====
what might be a nice cosmetic solution is:
---------\---------
=====/=====
---------\----------
where the == is, the two tracks 'cross over', similar to that in various parts of Amsterdam where the tracks simply cross and run along side in smaller sections.
Does anyone follow me or do i need to now draw pictures, diagrams and flow charts? (or for MajorDuck, get out my crayons and draw pwerdy piccies)

mh i for myself think this is impossible ATM. the sprites for the trams don't drive at the tram-tracks but on a hardcoded way. this means, if you would change the graphics for the trams, they would still drive the same way. if there's a track or not. though you could edit the track-graphics. but the trams still would drive left and right. you know what i mean?
maybe there's a way with a little patch or something this kind.. */me runs away*

i like to eat crayons... there is a bridge like that just outside of chicago for the South Shore line. that is part of the RTA commuter line (METRA) to get people to and from downtown in the rush hours. a few years back 2 fully packed trains tried to cross at the same time. it was bad..... sliced into the lead trains...andel wrote:as drawn with my best crayolas
random news clipping wrote:January 18, 1993
In the first passenger fatal accident since 1909, Train 7 from Chicago runs a red signal on the western approach to the Gauntlet Bridge, goes into emergency stop, and pauses for 5 to 30 seconds before being hit by Train 12 from South Bend. The lead cars, Car 27 Eastbound and Car 36 Westbound, slice into each other killing 7 passengers in Car 36, including a 10 year old boy. Most of the victims were decapitated. There were initial reports of 70 or 65 injured. (A 1998 TV report claimed 150 injured in a story about a lawsuit, as well as reporting an eighth passenger death from injuries sustained in the crash, but this report is not supported by other media.) A signal prior to the signal run had been reported defective in prior weeks, however the Gauntlet signals were working properly. A second bridge has now been added at the site and the Gauntlet is no longer in operation. The engineer of Train 7 was the dispatcher in the 1985 accident. NO CRIMINAL CHARGES WERE FILED, but both engineers were fired. (Car 36 apparently has been replaced by another car, or repaired, as it has been seen in operation. Based on video of the accident it would seem that Car 36 received the largest amount of damage.)
oops back on topic... you can change the graphic all you want but i dont think you can control where on the track the train will sit. it is hard coded as far as i know. i guess i have never actually watched trams run. i make them and dont come back untill they need replacing. usualy the city is so big you cant see them in the end.
