Hi,
i'm bored of all the stupid players flooding the land, buying wide yards of land or crashing other players' lorries. Are there moderated servers, where the operator will ban these players? I want to play a game with ships and lorries, with fair competition.

My nightly server is moderated. I can't be on it 24/7, but the autopilot gives my email address to everybody who joins, along with a link to the rules. If somebody acts like a prat on my server, email me. I can load an older saved game, ban the offending player, etc.
Unfortunately for nightly servers, which are updated each night and loaded from a saved game, every time a saved game is loaded all company passwords are lost. My server fell foul of this yesterday, when somebody joined each of the richest companies in turn and used it to flood or level the entire map. There's not really much I can do about this as server admin, and I find it every bit as frustrating as the players.

OK, an addendum. The autopilot saves the game to a new file whenever a client joins, and these saves are numbered. I can restore the game to the point where any player joined the game. This can somewhat assuage the problems caused when a moron joins and causes trouble, but loading a saved game brings problems of its own again - namely, the company passwords vanish.

While I do want to get that point across, that's not the reason I mention it here (where the devs aren't necessarily going to see it). I bring it up here to outline to players why even a moderated server can have problems with users out to spoil a good game.
