if model file isn't bigger than 4mb it can be sent trough PM easily.
And i will sure help you.
But if it's bigger then try to rar it and if that doesn't help you can send the model to my email tomas.degutis@gmail.com messages up to 10mb
But if you do that always notify me trough forums becouse i don't check my email too often
BTW you can only send me the model and the scale i must use to render it correctly.
I can do the other by myself.

Alcohol is not the answer, it just makes you forget the question.

I've tried to render it some more, and it seems to me that it is the second layer that is causing my pc to crawl to a halt.
Anyway, I have attached a copy of the file, and I think it is ready to render.
Just a couple of things. I compressed it using winrar, and it went rom 8 meg to 736kb. It seems too good to be true, so I hope it compressed alright.
Secondly, when you open the lighting file, the rendering is set to 50%. Is this correct? The result seem very small. And the result looks too bright to me. I can hardly see any detail at all.
Lastly, I added some colour as I wanted to see what it would look like with the lighting, but it is not a final paint job.

It seems like your file isn't properly set up, but I'll have a look at it and then render it for you and post the image here.
I'm doing a stadium too by the way, here's a work in progress. It's quite huge, but I just use 1 tile is about 25*25 metres as a rule of thumb. It's 6*7 now.

I'd appreciate that, but please note that I have changed the file so it might not be the correct one you downloaded. I realized that I had somehow managed to get two cameras in the scene, so I made a new file. But I guess there might be something wrong with this one too.
I made this mock-up with the DDA40X and a couple of wagons. If this is the correct size, then I guess adding all those details a waste of time...
*Edit* This picture doesn't have the correct lighting. I turned of one of the lights, as all of the details disappeard with it on, and the second layer is also not included, as my pc couldn't handle it well.
*Edit2* I've updated the file above again (for the last time I hope), and it should be the same version as the one I used to render the pic below.

Thank you, but do you mean I should make them bigger? I thought one square was 25 meters, and as the locomotive is 30 meters long, I made it a little more than a square long.
*Edit* I forgot that one square is 2*2 blender units. So I guess I should double the size, right?
So it should look something more like this then.

If you want it to be realistically sized its length should be just over 2 blender units, as you already said.
I think there will be rules for the size of vehicles in the future, because all trains have to fit on the same rails, for example. However, as far as I know there are no size rules for vehicles yet, so you can just render it as you like now.

I tried using dmh_mac´s wood textures with the wood on the wood truck, and suddenly it looked a lot better, I think. Not like steel bars anymore.
