I have noticed that you guys are posting .grf files instead of theself extracting sprite thingies that Josef made his program do. This is a much better idea, because it means i don't lose all the other user-created graphics to get your new toyland replaement stuff to work. So read the grfcodec manual about the self extracting sprites, this makes the downloads smaller and it doens't screw up existing new graphics ;)

Hmm. Well, Dinges, on thinking about it, if the bottoms of the bridges have to be the same, I must say on average they would look better using the normal track with frequent cross-ties, simply because that is what is found more often. Although you could make the floor of the concrete bridge without any crossties at all, and then make the floor of the suspension bridge with lots of crossties and bracing and the rest of the floor transparent, and then even though they wouldn't look the same on a long suspension bridge, that would be OK because it's not completely unreasonable for the "suspended" section in the middle of a suspension bridge to be different in structural design, because the stresses are different than under the towers or on the ends.

My mistake ;)

It's a good idea because ppl like me have collected a big amount of these new graphics, and if they are all replaced for the toyland replacement ones... :(

But, keep up the good work, the grass looks a-grade ;)

I know an better Idea, maybe concentrating on the suspension bridge is the best. Than making the middle part fit with suspension bridge will be much better.

Yes definitely the second. I'd basically leave that as it is, after fixing the red bottoms of the columns.

Who's mister Foster?

BTW I changed the color's as more white above and more dark white below (on the suspended part), and if you mean shadow on the concrete it isn't there!

Ok - so I have a few hints.

One - lightning is indicated by yellow arrows. This is general direction where it comes from in ttd. This means that things that it lits will be ligheter on one side (the one we don't usually see) and darker on the other. Also Lower parts of the bridge are usually much darker that upper. Also - most colors are not what they seem.

Second thing texture - compare the cubes - which do you think looks better? Also - compare the two eurostars.
Texture allows to strech "3d-ness" of the sprite - esp in such a small scale as in ttd. Using different patterns for filling allows to make a sprite look metallic, deeper, rounder etc. Take look at mr.foster's original bridges or any other objects. All of them are textured (save for toyland buildings).

The amount of texture varies. I prefer heavy, darker texture while for example Michael Blunck seems to prefer lighter and mor egentle (and much less visible) texture.

So now I get it
1. the bottom is too ligth
2. the pillars must be more O

But the bridge is supposed to be white and not gray!
