How do I get past 2051?

Hi! I´m new here so sorry if this been postet before, but couldn´t find it.

Just started playing Open TTD, and going to link with a mate. I´ve been playing a little for my own and wanted to test how long I could play, the answar was 2051, then it stopped after the news message and there was some critical save or something...

I tried to start the game in 2052, to see if that worked and it turned out all fine. In 2090 the year counting stopped but I could play further, but still in 2090 over and over again. But thats no problem!

What I want to know is... Can I play with a mate and get through 2051? Because I would like to play as long as I want, and not as long as the "game wants". After seeing its posssible to start in 2052 -> 2090 I thought there was a solvation for this. Is it?

Yes you can! In 2051 the game adds the game's score to the highscore-database (hs.dat) and I guess something most go wrong here In 2090 the game doesn't count any further (I thought there is some patch for it??), but you can play further. This has something to do with the 'remove old vehicles' or something like that

Which version do you use? 0.4.0.1 or a nightly?

Please post your savegame + configfile (openttd.cfg)!

Haven´t played a long multiplayer game yet, just tried playing alone.
The message I get is that there has been a critical "something" and I can try to save the game, but its not for sure it will work. Where will this game place itself?

SO... If I play this LAN game and its stops in 2051, what do I do to get further? Please explain easy, my english isn´t that good

When saving the emergency save it will be placed in your OpenTTD directory under the name 'crash.sav'. In 2051 you'll see a yellow background with red letters (your company name) showing #1, when it's your second time in 2051 the company you current play will be either #1 or #3, which speaks for itself

You can just continue playing the game although i don't know you can continue immediately afther this high-score-board or you'll have to load a auto-generated-save?

Yes, 0.4.0.1 has problems with 2051 dec 31. It's fixed in the (soon to be released) next version.
