SDL actually has OGL support. ;)

personally i think the first step is 2d OGL (will make the biggest difference), then we could move to 3D ogl.

some day, some day, we can all dream :D

As for the people who say it wont run on their 386, well boohoo. It's 2005, get with the times already (or just keep running an older version of ottd).
how do you define keeping a game up to date? do you define it as "using all the latest stuff that gpu's provide"? if so, that's not really an atrgument for using the gpu...

What if I want PBS, morevehicletypes, newindustries, &c. but the classic graphics? What then?
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

then you make sure that somebody (you?) makes a patch that allows old style graphics without breaking openGL..... or as it is now: nobody said that we should use openGL exclusively. It could be made an option, not a must. The future will tell

infact it will most likely be an option. I've got many games that can use software renfdering, OGL and/or DirectX. you have the option to select which 1 you want in a lot of games. theres no reason why we can't do that here.

There are times when JPG is useful, TTD screenshots is not one of them. Please use PNG instead.

i doubt B&W2 went with the sprites option, i supose just about everything in there is a 3D Model.

I'm sure sacro would give it a try, if he hadn't vanished.
