I do have both, or maybe I should say all three version including the original TTO. But I do use only the windows version.

You ask here which version I have AND USE.
I think this is what really matters, what version are you using.

Exactly! I bet almost everybody HAS the DOS version, if for no other reason than because that was far more widely available to be purchased (I never even knew there WAS a Windows version until after it was long gone from stores, if it ever was there.) But now the Windows version is probably overwhelmingly used by people because it works on modern OSs and the DOS version doesn't. I've got the TTO kicking around somewhere too, but I have no idea where and I probably will never find it again. And I don't care because TTD was a better game to begin with, and is leagues better now with all the development going on. I never saw the Mars scenario though, my disk didn't come with it. Anybody have any screen-shots or something? It might give us some ideas or useful graphics.

I use the DOS version, mainly because that was the first one I found on the net, and after a few years I changed the graphics in it, and I don't want to do these changes in the win version too.
And now, when I'm translating, I will have to do it once again if I change.
Besides, I don't like those purple thingies in the win grf's.
But I have both.

Can't you run fullscreen with win 98?Hyronymus wrote:I would love to play windows version too but I can't get the window full screen (W98 is my OS). I don't really give a damn about the DOS thingy. It works great, good sound and the DOS-shell under W98 is OK. Too bad noone figured out yet how to edit windows-based graphics to fit in the DOS game.
I have no problems with this.

Ah, yes, that's another reason. When I start the Windows version it messes with my sound card settings (changes bass and treble settings) and makes my winamp music sound disgusting.Adam K. wrote:I use DOS vesrion cause it allowes to turn off the sound so I don't get any sound quality loss when playing mp3s in the background.
Can't this be fixed?
