Nuclear UDSSR Set

Post by zacki »

Hi!

I'm Zacki, living in Germany, a ComputerScience student.

I wold like to creat a UDSSR Train Set, with typical Nuclear installations. It's just an idea, but maybe you are able, to find some answers for incoming questions.

After the start of russian Atomic Programm in around 1945 they first developed PlutoniumProducing reactors inside of Mountains. To find the installations, you "only" need to look for the main West-East railroad tracks. You will find the closed cities like Tomsk-7, with their installations for enreechment of Uranium, Plutonium installations and some few other installations in the Nuclear-System. In 60s they used nuclear energy for non military Nuclear Plants for developement of heating, electricity or sweet water form sea. The russians had first an West-System on the left side of Ural. This was to dangerous, to close to western Europe. So they developed the second System on eastern side of Ural.

Maybe an idea to make an Train Set with installations like UraniumMine, EnrichmentUtility, NuclearPlant, WeaponsPlant or SubmarineDocks .(.. you need also Iron etc.) is impossible. But ist possible to make an UDSSR Set and to TRY to add an Nuclear-Scenario.

So what do you think about this idea, about the possibility to make it tru? I don'n exactly know, how you add an Loco to a Trainset, but I don't think it's tooooooooo difficult. It would be good, if somebody with expirience could help me, mainly for first steps.

You like to help, please mail me.

I speak german, polish and english.

Thank You

Zacki

The only thing i can do is draw nuclear steamers, but i don't think you want then :p
I don't think it is possible to add new industries to ttdpatch, so we might have to replace the normal power plant..
<+Raichase> ugh, I just ate some of my beard D:

wrong section. These changes are nearly imposible in the patch - but pretty easy in OpneTTD, just that it would require somebody to program them.

If you were wanting to do a set with Russian vehicles, there's a set of Eastern-bloc busses; a set of Czechoslovakian trains; and we've talked about doing Russian airliners but not gotten to them yet.

In OTTD you'd be able to do more things, like having the "meltdown" disaster.

I'd like to mention that the Czech trains are pretty completely different from the Russian ones. You could have as well said "Hey, we've got the DB set, what would we need Russian trains for?"

...and I'd like to mention, that krtaylor's post is almost one year old.
I don't think you added anything to the topic, so the resurrecion was quite unneccessary.

At first I was thinking what the hell was wrong with people not knowing about the new industries and cargos... and then I realize that you posted in a topic finished ONE YEAR ago :?

Man, check out the dates... you can't reply like that to a topic so long dead, no matter how good your point is...

Actually, resurrecting a topic like this can be forgiven if it's for a really good reason

Thats exactly what I was thinking! .

Perhaps if the original poster is still around, they may want to revive their project, now that all of their ideas are possible?
