OpenTTD conversion

Post by Fender »

Hey, im new here so forgive me if im asking some dumb question answered hundreds of times. I am currently using OpenTTD to make my scenarios and i want to use TTDPatch to play them. Is there any way i can convert my OpenTTD scenarios to ones that are playable in TTDPatch? Changing the file extensions wont work btw lol. Thanks.

Yes, there is a way.
No, it is not easy.

1) Compile OTTD without ZLIB, or otherwise produce an uncompressed save.
2) Edit the save from OTTD's format into TTDPatch's format. (Or, better yet, write a program to do this for you.)
3) Compress the new save with sv1codec.
4) Open the save with TTD[Patch] and hope you did everything corectly.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Lol, like you could do that by hand :P
It's not worth the trouble, and your fcked anyways if your map is not 256x256 in size.

I'm afraid both TTDAlter and TTDX Editor will not work with OpenTTD or OpenTTD saved games/scenarios, due to the fact that the internals of both are significantly different to normal TTD.
