I hope you get my Private Message on the forum lately
but I am writing to you to ask about extedning sizes of stations
I think I haven't found any station tile in your station set where I was able to press +7 button but some of them may need that (like normal platforms and empty platforms)
also would be good to allow people set track count for buffers
also I've found a bug in NewShips. Goods/Food ship, food graphic (which is great, as I've seen it yesterday for the first time) got "white stripe", while loading food, 3rd or 4th stage while standing -> (front turnned to the right corner)

Yeah, that´s a know issue and had been recently reported (and answered) on the mailing list as well:
When I use the new carge set (15 Sept 2005) I lose tha ability to refit the train Box Car to grain. The start year of game is 1921. If I remove the new cargo set. I get the option to convert the Box Car to except grain. Using the New Cargo set I can not transport grain until the year that the covered hopper appears. I am using the American train set. No other problems seen.
Found the new Ver 86 for Us Trains. Will see if same problem develops. Note the US web site shows ver 85 yet it is the new ver 86. Looks like the info haas not been updated yet.
Well, if you´re using v0.12 of the NewCargo set this shouldn´t happen. Although, the earlier version(s) modified some freight car IDs regardless what train vehicle set had been loaded before.
Maybe try to re-arrange the order of .grfs in newgrf[w].cfg?
michael, whilst i was making a station the other day, i was wondering if you could possibly design a non-tile with a slope so it could connect to roads for a even more realistic station.
Just an idea that might work
Ok the forum search was merely useless for my research. the newcargo set readme implies that the Shipset, DBsetXL and cargoset offer transportation means to transport both beer and fish.
Well luckily there is a ship which refits to "All but ..." so it obivously includes fish, because Ive also not found another ship refittable to Fish.
A more consistant problem is the beer transport. None of the train wagons in the cargo set allow to be refitted to carrying beer. and building a dock next to every brewery just to use the famous "All but ..." ship seems a bit stupid to me
So how do I get this beer into my trains using cargo set wagons ?
> how do I get this beer into my trains using cargo set wagons ?
Well, that´s not possible.
ATM, the NewCargo set modifies some CargoSet trucks to transport fish and beer, the NewShips´ "Austin&Pickersgill" to transport fish and a set of DBXL´s freight cars to transport fish, food and beer.
Obviously, I haven´t been aware that the rather old CargoSet is still used for its freight cars.
I´ll change that with the next release of the NewCargo set.
I guess there is a problem with george's LV's.
when i try to refit them to fish or beer, ive got a capacity of 0 (zero) tons of goods. and i only have the cabin of the truck. sry if it has been already posted.
there are things known and things unknown and in between are the doors.
well, the latter locos áre indeed expensive (around half a million in 2000), but that's realism for you.
anyway, i'm getting really excited about the upcoming treats Mr. Blunck's got in store for us... perhaps, some teaser shots?

Would use the DBsetXL, but the engine pricing seemed to hard for me to get acceptable ratings later in the game with modern locomotives.
Did you try to reduce your difficulty level to "simple"? That would give you lower prices. In addition, you could set Bit 4 in the DBXL´s parameter, e.g. "newgrf[w]/dbsetxl[w].grf 16" to cut prices even more.

Yeah it strangely made no difference. But I will try that Bit 4, which I didnt know about until now. The readme only explains Bits 0 to 3 with 3 being "8 - disable german-style semaphores".
edit:
Using DBsetXL now. I have wagons for Beer now
But I dont have any town buildings accepting either food or beer.

Hmm, indeed. I've been a bit slack with them recently .
