my first new sprites

Discuss, get help with, or post new graphics for TTDPatch and OpenTTD, using the NewGRF system, here. Graphics for plain TTD also acceptable here.

yes, the new 32bpp stuff is untouced, but i've sugested ini codings for the code part

I expect you are aware of this, but such a thing already exists.

Full sets would simply have add an action D setting parameter 99 correctly.

i've looked at that, its not exactly dynamic...

by dynamic i'd assume the game would automaticly find and use a free slot. however, there are no free slots for it to find, nor use.
so t he term "Dynamic" isn't 100% accurate. i'd call it more of "Costomisable".

DaleStan, I am aware of it, but I've done anything with regards to implementing it yet.

Bobingabout, do you really think an INI file can be flexible enough? Of course, I'm assuming NewGRF-like features, but maybe they're not wanted.

i supose you are right there... but i'd definitly say something better than NFO sprite scripts. something with actual words in it.

if the devs (or a dev) agrees, i can try and come up with some kind of text document format. just a bit busy with my YR mod at the moment though.

Hold on, what are we talking about here?

GRF stuff, or a newer OTTD specific format?

if its the later, then communication between lots of people is gonna be pretty crucial.

somthing that will work into the future would be best, but people will need to be on the same page.

If you are still after someone to code these graphics for you, I can do so as long as these will be released for both TTDP and OTTD.
Now, I'd like a list of which of the sprites should be used with each Loco / MU

Yes. We're talking about one or the other, and you didn't ask which. We may even be talking about both simultaneously.

Please quit plugging your "new OTTD specific format" until such time as it actually *exists*. The graphics have excellent potential, but until the format is fully specified and implemented, they're just pretty pictures, and have no actual use.

No need to get personal Dalestan.

people are trying to get a scripting language and stuff off the ground, but as of yet there is little concensus as people arn't communicating.

i think the point of my coments is to try and get coders to help with the artists, otherwise 32bpp and new GFX will forever be vapourware.

i think we kinda drifted into 32bpp, but the graphics were originally meant to be a OTTD GRF

i did want it to be an OTTD GRF, and since TTDP suports everything and more of what OTTD does, then sure, why not TTDP too.

as for what is used by what. its been a while since i looked at it, I'll have to get back to you. but it was a livery overide i was looking for.
