Alpha 60 crash during game on Win XP pro SP2

Have installed Alpha 60 of TTD patch and noted the 'bug' that causes a crash when game started. Game was running fine then it just bombed out.

This is, ah, interesting. Both the stack and instruction pointer are corrupt, yet I can't think of a way for this to happen simultaneously.

In any case, because of this there is no useful information at all in the crash log. The only thing I can suggest is that you find out whether there's a specific switch that causes is, by trial and error of turning off switches until it works.

I, too, get a crash using Alpha60, everything seems to work well, until the game suddenly crashes completely spontaneously on Feb 11th.

Ive attached an archive with my cfg, newgrf file and the savegame.

Well, I loaded your game with your cfg and it didn't crash. From the crash log, it seems something is overwriting random memory, but since it worked here, it doesn't seem to be something in TTD or TTDPatch.

Maybe you can try turning off your virus scanner, or whatever other programs are running in the background?

In fact it doesnt only happen at that specific date. I just played past the 11th.

Yet the game will crash within the time of a couple of weeks, randomly.
Oh, Im just going to wait for another release, maybe this problem is fixed again then, because I have changed anything on my computer apart from the TTD version from when I last played the game without problems.

Until then Im having fun with a new game and nwe features :)

I once had problems with crashing at the specific day.
I fixed that by changing some switches states
you can try some, start with noinflation (that was my problem as far as I remember)
what are you looking at? it's a signature!

Tried the Alpha 60 release on my Windows 98SE machine and it doesn't crash like it does on XP but, after playing for a while (or even leaving the game paused) the computer just freezes (locks up). No mouse, no sound, no CTRL-ALT-DEL, screen frozen in time. The only thing that works is hard reset. There are no TTDpatch crash files either so I can't post one.

you have to investigate ... try disabling some features/graphics and see if it will work
