Well, I would probably add another special .grf file, if I ever do this. You can't just replace one, because this symbol should realistically only be available from 2002 on, so you still need to keep all the others. Which makes it difficult to find a slot in the character set to use for the euro... and I'd also have to patch the money conversion functions as well.
Anyway, I don't place a very high priority on this, because it wouldn't really improve the gameplay, it would just be a "cute" thing to have. If I ever get bored....

Off-course, it's only one of those very small features that adds something to the gameJan wrote:Honestly, why do you need that? I do play with the pounds or the dollars, and if I download game from France, so it's franks. Is this one so important for the game? For god sake, this is only a GAME!
We don't need it, i enjoy every currency

Well, back to work, lot's of it in the near future
Uhm, I'm not a programmer either, just a volunteering translator who thought adding the € was nice. With my approach, the € would be available from 1950, which isn't realistic. I agree with what has been said before: we should wait for Josef, in case he finds time to implement it. It would be nice but it isn't very important, is it?

Well boys and girls i'm french and play most often with currency set to Francs and it's not causing me any problems to see FF plus it's more realistic for me than to see the symbol of euro or the sign EUR because i'm living in czech republic and see more czech crowns than euros
but anyway, it could be easy to change string to EUR or whatever is your currency, i can perfectly live without the EUR sign

btw. Changing currency to Euro should be in 'switch' (there shouldbe like hat:)
... Euro in Poland will be later than in rest of EU countries
Code: Select all
euro <Year>
for example:
euro 2001
what are you looking at? it's a signature!

Allready posted that some time ago... ( Search functions rule )Andrex wrote:I think it should be pretty easy to add the (€)Euro currency, or replace an old currency with it and add new ones over the old ones.
