Way more information is needed here.

Version? "Latest" is not a version number. Which trains crash, what are they doing at the time of the crash?

All of these things, plus any other information you have at hand will help the patch team fix this a lot faster than you saying "here is my game, it broke, fix it".

Anyway, I thought you left?

This is very poor. You expect someone to volunteer to download your game, and try and fix your problem, yet you can't be bothered to check your version, or even save the game in the right spot?

Thats not fair.

I suggest you open TTD, and check what version you have (hint: you can check your exact version number in the title-bar of the main-menu window), and make sure your game is saved where the crash happens. Failing that, take screenshots showing train windows open, giving directions, and showing where the crash happens.

If its something like this below, everyone had that problem.
AFAIK, A train has to have a direct route to its destination. It will only stop at a signal if theres something on the way. However... Lets say that place it was going to was a waypoint, and on the other side a train and no signal. Oh dear, its got a clear route, but after that, WHAM! Into the side of another train.
Thats what i was told anyway  Im not sure whether thats changed or not.
Check your signaling and waypoints and the like first.

Oh, and by the way, your saved game doesnt work. have you got the right one uploaded?

It sounds more like a fault in your railway than a bug.
A bug would be like the signal is in the middle of the track.
Have you check your signalling like i suggested?
and also made sure you have the right game uploaded? because it doesnt seem to work here, and i thought saved games were "TRT<2 digits>.sv1"

Ghost:
1) Save games are trt##.sv1 if morevehicles 1, and trp##.sv1 otherwise.
2) Patchman made waypoints safe in PBS blocks in a53.

RobotBoy, we'll need your config file too.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Yes, report bugs. That is good. Report them properly. Try posting a bug report like *this*:

http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=348009#348009

If that seems like too much work, then why should someone do all the work to figure out your problem as well as fix it for you? Hmm?

Robotboy, I played your save game, and I think it's not a bug.
you should switch the PBS to a normal signal.

p.s.
I had played my game in the same situation, and there was the same thing.
Which means that's is your railroad problem, not a bug. :D

Adressing "Robot Boy" is seeming less like talking to a robot, and more like smacking my head on a brick wall.

See, here's the deal. Robot Boy, in all his patch wisdom, as decided that he has found a bug in PBS. Rather than reading the manual to make sure it isn't a gross misuse of the PBS switch, he goes straight to the forums. No matter how obvious it seems, he decides to post a new topic about it, because... well, he has to be the first person to have this bug. Searching would be a waste of his valuble time.

When posting the bug report, he simply puts it in and waits for it to be fixed, expecting gratiude for him taking *oh so much time* to post the report in the first place.

When people address him on the issue that it isn't a bug (as you did Geo, and Death), he is happy to ignore them and their well thought out, well researched posts, because he knows he is right, and he knows that they are wrong.

Heaven forbid someone ask him to take the time to write out a proper bug report, and perhaps make life easy for the developers trying to source and fix the bug. Thats their job, isn't it?

Robot Boy, I am sorry if I offend you, but it seems that all the great people here on the forums have taken the time to be patient with you. You seem to deliberatly ignore us, and ignore anyone who actually disagrees with what you say. I think you need to smarten up, and take a good look at how you participate in a community. It's give and take, not just take take take.

I'm getting tired of it, and it's starting to show.

To everyone else - I'm sorry, but I have a very low tolerance for ignorance, and for people that won't heed friendly advice when it's warranted.

Geo, DaleStan, Death... I think we have ourselves a lost cause here...

Raichase,
Sometimes to make someone understand, we need to be hard with him (for example: what you wrote). But I don't think we should do it in front of 8000 people. I'm not against you, But I don't want him offended by you.
