MeusH Landscape selecting buttons

Post by Alltaken »

just curious what people think of this.

personally i think that terragen landscapes are not ideal (fake, and not fake in a direction that is close to OTTD)

however i do like the idea of using real life photos rather than Ingame images.

i am not against using ingame images though.

Link, with statement to me.

I'd say ingame. Provies the player with a good preview of what it would look like.

I say we should make a render of a landscape using the tiles we have made/are making.

The photos look nice. What do the "Computer-generated" (as opposed to "generated by the game engine, probably?) look like?

edit: Still don't see the difference between "photos" and "computer-generated" :D

I just wondered why are we having different landscapes? What about all the different types on one? we have big maps now, and i've always wanted to run a railway right from the desert though to the snow capped mountains....

As with the millions of other suggestions, it has yet to be taken by anyone. If you want to do it, then go ahead, but I believe it would be quite a big thing to do.
