grep is your friend.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Too much GRF

Post by tolenneda »

Eh Tuxist!

Don't try to put to much new GRF file and try to manage your number of replacement vehicule. This will remove your error.

Good luck

First of all, the number is hexadecimal (0x3500), and there's little room for increasing the number of sprites, without major changes to the sprite code. It will be done, but not now.

i bet half the graphics you trying to use arn't even OTTD compatable.
JPG SUX!!! USE PNG!!!
There are times when JPG is useful, TTD screenshots is not one of them. Please use PNG instead.

try to load dbsetxl, newships and newplanes (and possibly newfonts) and you'll get a too many sprites error and even though dbset isn't "compatible" it works with only one or two minor flaws (speed wagons and tenders) so don jump to that conclusion so quickly ;)

That it, :) , just becarefull on which one you want to play with. But you can mix more then simple vehicule grf file, like I do. I use "cargosetw.grf"+"dozer2,1.grf"+"newshipsw.grf"+"planesetw_459.grf"+"offices.grf"+"NEWOFFICE.GRF"+"newofficebuilding.grf" and once a will I change and also use "trafficsetw.grf" to make the road different.

To let try anybody of my finding I will share my GRF file that I can garanty at 100% that they work in open ttd, but carefull of the one you chose you will have a limited amount of witch one you will be able to use and  please don't try every one of them at the same time ( I meen all the one in the file).
