Yup... it can do 60 in the ARS. All the stats in the ARS are based on my own research, and not taken from the US Set.

Oh.

Maybe I should reduce the power of all the locos in the OTTD version by 66%? ;)

Actually, I think that is a sensible idea
No, really, I wanted to do something like that in my set
(Just for the Singaporekiddish reallism :P )
Yeah, maybe just half the power for OTTD

Yeah, maybe just half the power for OTTD
Or you could just add 5x or 3x weight to each wagon to simulate freight trains switch ;)

freighttrains multiplies only cargo weight, not capacity.

In OTTD, your options are:
1) set an absurdly high tare weight
2) set an absurdly high capacity
3) write a tare weight callback (which doesn't exist in TTDPatch, much less OTTD.)
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Surely it can't be that hard for the OTTD folks to add support for the freighttrains switch.

"Pain in the ARS..."

IIRC, there 'was' a Freighttrains patch for OTTD. And for those who want weak/low powered locos... **cough**Singaporekid**cough** I'd say add a 2-6-0 and have the top speed of this loco as 50mph, HP 1,000-1,200

Pikka, I meant I plan to have the base set drawn by next week :P

I'm also considering electrics. Not many, maybe 3 or 4

1920 - GE Boxcab (Similar to MILW EL3 but freelanced)
1930 - GE 1+C+C+1 Boxcab Electric (Based on Great Northern Y1)
1948 - GE 2+D+D+2 Electric (Based on a combination of Little Joe and Great Northern Class W
1986 - GMD GF6C

you know, the GEvo's are nearly flat all across the top, unlike a dash 9.

Still more sprites - P42, Revised RS3 and C636. Also attached a new coach for use from 1980 on. As far as the consolidation goes, I'd say have the top speed for it be 55MPH

I've decided to add a couple more locos, one being EMD FT. The FT is very distinctive, and I'd like to add it as the "first" diesel in the set.
I was initially thinking of having the loco being available in 2-unit sets only, but decided against it. The short B-Units were only used on A-B-A configurations, the long ones for A-B and A-B-B-A configurations.

I'm thinking this loco would come in around 1939/1940.

*looks at list* Wow, that's A LOT of EMD Cabs :D

Also attached is the proposal for the ARS Electrics (if I do include them)

Basic specs are as follows:

1. GE "EF" Boxcab - Introduction 1920 - 1,500HP
2. GE "EP" Boxcab - Introduction 1930 - 3,000HP
3. GE "W" Class Electric - Introduction 1947 - 5,000HP
4. GMD GF6C - Introduction 1986 - 6,000HP

What about a commuter EMU? And how about a modern (1980) bi-level? :)

.51 attached - added the Genesis, C636, and new pax/mail sprites. Reduced the Consolidation speed to 55mph.

The commuter EMU's would be in the temperate version, but they don't really fit in the arctic. I will do up some modern bi-levels however (GO-Transid/Bombardier style)

I still don't think there should be an Temperate Version... This set is designed to play arctic/alpine, and thats what it excels at.

Looking at the poll though, I see I am outnumbered :)).

Well, I'm still not sure about a temperate version (it means more work for me... lol) We'll see in the future. In the meantime, here's the C36-7 and the SD40-2.

The status image has been updated on the first page.

Added the above two locos, and the Evolution (using the C36-7 sprites). Download is on the next page. :)

The AI currently knows which locomotives to use, but not which wagons - I will work on that today.
