wee im back! i got a question from dos/win gfx
i read that u guys say to change one grhpx to another u just change the code line from -m 0 to -m 1, thats great since it works, now why cant someone repack all the grhpx and make an installer with check box DOS and WIN, if u select win it will convert all of em to m -1 if dos is selected then just converts all to m 0 . would it work? sorry just logged on since forever since my 2 pcs died now im back though! ill keep reading maybe i miss understood
It's not quite so easy. Normally, one doesn't need GRFCodec when installing new graphics. However, the -m option is a GRFCodec option, so you'd have to install it, before the installer can convert them to the right type.
Then, the installer would have to decode it and re-encode it with the right palette. I believe that's just not worth the trouble, but of course I wouldn't mind if somebody made such an installer...
