Its easy, all you have to do is select the bridge icon, and then click and
drag where you want the bridge to go (how far, actually).

I need to know how to build bridges over land, and over pieces
of railroad/road. I see the computer do it (crossing one railroad over
another), but I cant figure out how. Please dont tell me to read the
manual, because (I know this is resented) I downloaded the game from an
abandonware website.

hmph, I tried the same thing (or what seemed like the samething) and it
said "Cannot Build Bridge". Thanks!! I really appreciate it, it'll make
my railroads & roads a little more organized.

I agree, though his perhaps only excuse is the fact that apparently it is
difficult to get hold of in the US. But why not use an internet firm? I know
at least two UK companies selling both TTD and the Tycoon Collection, and
they are at very good prices as well.

Although I'm not too pleased with this fact, I'll see what I can do......
Drag the mouse from one location to the other. For it to work, then there
must be nothing in the way, like houses, stations etc. You cannot build over
diagonal pieces of track, or roads which have connections to others. The
altitude of the land *must* remain the same throughout the length of the
proposed bridge, and you cannot build a bridge if you are going up a slope
which is more than one level higher than you. Make sure that you click and
drag from one tile before the place you want to cross over. In the case of
sea bridges, this is begin on one coastline, end on another. On land begin
one tile before the rail/road etc you wish to cross and end one tile after.
