Give a hand, please?
Give a hand, please?
Hi there, fellow Tycoon'ers. I remember playing the game and loving it, and
still have the old 3.5" floppies. After encountering this newsgroup, I dug
through the closet and found 'em. Tried to play again, but now that I'm
using Windows 98 I can't play! I'm afraid I don't know what base address my
Sound Blaster Live uses (I know the IRQ is 10). Any clues out there? I'd
appreciate any and all suggestions (provided the suggestion isn't to "stick
it where the sun don't shine).

Re: Give a hand, please?
Great advice, Chris, thank you. Followed your instructions and saw a lot of
data regarding my soundcard I never knew existed. Only *1* little problem,
tho....My SB16 emulation is set to IRQ 9, and I can't seem to change it. I
tried with IRQ 10 (which is my SBLive's IRQ), and 7 (which is yours) to no
avail. I have TWO DMA's listed...1 and 7. Trying each of these settings
through the setup program does nothing. Yes, my base address is 240. Guess
I'll play this game with a character name of "Ol' Beethoven" (deaf). Thanks
again for the advice, though. Gave me one more route to try.

Not quite the same, I know, but Windows wanted to give my SB IRQ9, as 5
is occupied by my SCSI card. No way can I get TTDLX to run on IRQ9.
But when I unchecked the "allocate automatically" box and set it to 10,
where there are no conflicts, it worked just fine.
If 220 is used by another device, see if that can be moved somewhere
else to let the SB have 220.
