TTWorld

Post by Edward Bernard »

I want to know your opinions if I moved the site again! The server I
am currently using is becoming far too slow for uploading. There will
be only the inconvience of having to sort out your
favourites/bookmarks etc. The new site will not have ads and has a
shorter name. This new site gives me more reliable uploading. It will
be at

http://www.ttworld.ic24.net

Also, I am going to introduce a mailing list feature to the site. The
subscribers will receive an email telling them of new things on the
website when it is updated, and will highlight competitions, and good
scenarios on the site.

Subscribe now at http://ttworld.listbot.com

Thanks,

Again? It's only been, what, two months? I don't think that is such a
good idea...

Ah, but if it's only you who's affected, I'd say stay with it. How often
do you update anyway? Surely not twice a day.

You could also go for a cjb.net redirected address (or *.to or whatever),
then you could move the site wherever you want and just update your cjb
account.

Solved. I forgot to change index.htm to default.htm. If it doesn't find
default.htm then the server refuses to show whats in the directory. Much
safer that way.

Alright, I'm signing up for a cjb redirector. The new address will be

http://www.ttworld.cjb.net

I still have to tell everyone where the new site is though....

We don't have unmetered access. The affect on me, is my phone bill, which
goes up and up and up.

Yep, I've done so. Now I'll have to set about telling all my link to sites
my new url.

You are using a tag that prevent your site from being put in the Temporary
Internet Files folder, don't you? I know, as I am webmaster, that we don't
like our site never to be updated, but I, as a websurfer, am fed up with
having to read your site online, so that I don't read it at all...

What?! Where is this? It's definately not put in by me, because I know the
use of the Work Offline feature. I can't be anything done it Frontpage,
because I can access TTWorld at http://www.ttworld.ic24.net offline, so it must be
the the-whale.com server I am on. Go on, search the site and I'm almost 99%
certain that there isn't a tag to stop using the temporary internet folder.

Template? I made that myself.

The coding isn't buggered, it works. I can see that it says the-whale.com,
but that's only because I haven't updated it yet. Don't worry, in the update
scheduled for tommorow, or the 23rd, I will sort it.

made yourself, why has it got stuff about cut and paste scripts in it, and a
username in the code?
