Did I mention the plans for after 3DTT? It will be a 3D remake of Castles.

Castles as in the game where you played a king in something like 13th
century England, where you had to build castles to stop the Celts. I *loved*
that game. 'Twas in the time of King Edward I I think. He went on to fight
the Scots, but died before he won. Edward II took over and got wiped at
battles like Bannockburn.

Or are you talking about something else?

No, I am talking about just this game. There was also a Castles II.
Sometimes a Robin Hood like guy showed up in this game, his name was
Robert
Ashley (if my memory serves me well).
I am a big fan of castles in reality.
Imagine a game in which you could build a castle like in a CAD program.
This
is what I would like to make.
Yes, I had a demo of Castles II. Big changes from Castles I, in that you
were in France I think, and there was a lot more emphasis on conquest. But,
the basic principle of building a castle was still there, even if very
heavily toned down.
I remember Robert Ashley, but I can't remember what he was meant to be
doing. Seen as though I have nothing better to do (school holidays) I'll dig
out the disk, and have a look. I often found it was better playing in the
Real World, because you didn't get the Guild of Thieves knocking on your
door every five minutes. And I liked the storyline with the Duke of Norshire
always losing battles to the Picts. I always took the money, rather than the
land.
Never used a CAD program before, so I'd be at a loss to comment on this.
Now we are completely off topic, hehe.
Aha! I'll mark this post with OT

It is very old, you can still download the demo somewhere in the Internet
(so did I) but I am afraid you can't get the game iteself anywhere, hehe. I
searched for months without result.

If somebody has Castles and Castles II I would like to have a copy.

I have Castles I, as the full game. If you like, I'll email it to you. I
think its only 1.5mb. Hey, I could send everyone a copy!

OK then. I'll start a new thread, so that it's more out in the open. And
I'll mark it [OT].

Hehe, nice idea, but this is no strategy game. You don't have to pay for the
walls and towers, and you can't command large armys.

Of course designing a castle and playing in it with a team is funny!
