this really invaluable piece of information:
In article <81mvh2$a...@news8.svr.pol.co.uk>, "Edward Bernard"
e...@ttworld.the-whale.com> writes:

A surprising statistic, that only 1 visitor was using Netscape, and the
other 58 were either using IE4 or IE5.

Shows how many people actually went and did something about Internet Exploder.

Some of you may wonder why I constantly bash IE. It's for a very good reason.
It's a terrible browser, at least in my opinion.

I've used Netscape ever since I discovered it...
Get a decent browser. I use either Opera, because it's small, fast and
generally a nice browser, or normally the GoToWorld browser because
they pay people to use it

Wooo....Can I have a copy of Win 85 please?
Just for prosterity? B-)
A funny typo! Where there any windows then? The year when I was born.
And there has been one visitor clicking the link from Ricks site to
mine.

Woooo.......(Again) How many clickthrought do you get from me?
All mine seem to be from searchengines and direct requests..
As it says above. Out of the visitors to your site, one person clicked the
link. You could do the same by setting up one of the direct refferers as the
links page of my site http://www.ttworld.the-whale.com/otherttsites.htm
And 7 AOL users to the site.

Ha....Only 2......
Any Webmasters had a Web TV person yet?
Any HAVE Web TV?
I haven't. The most popular visitors are from .COM's now. But I haven't seen
a .MIL or .GOV yet.
I for one would like to know how my site looks.......I'm not sure what
kind
of browser they use.....
Don't even think about it! There's probably loads of things wrong with it.

What are you using as your server?

'I haven't bothered to go back yet' means I haven't taken the effort to
re-visit it. That was... a whole TWO DAYS after I first visited it. I don't
visit web pages every day unless I'm expecting an upgrade every day, such as
for a comic strip or such.

I do, but I don't visit it every day. I'll visit it once in a week to check for
updates, and if there are, I'll look at them and check them out.

Another reason is I only get 2 and a half hours of time online a day, and with
my internet RPing, MUCK RPing, ICQ, AOL, message boards, comic strips, AND this
newsgroup, I end up running out of time before I can go visit other stuff.

What I mean it DOES make a difference, only from 128MB on it is (still)
minimal, I guess that will change not too far from now.
But I don't think you need more than 128, rather wait until it's cheaper

Number 5, Netscape let's you work offline so you can load files from

So can IE5. You can set it to go and tell you when the site has changed

Yes, but you can't specifically work off-line with it, can you? Whenever
you
try to run it it'll start giving you 404 errors if there's no internet
access
at the time.
I can and I often do, whereas I noticed that Netscape usually try to reload
a cached page, when I try to print it or when I simply press the Back
button.
I've never had problems with frames in Netscape.
I have with my site: IE do use the exact number of pixels I set in my page,
whereas Netscape doesn't. This is really annoying because I use background
with border.

IIRC, the Amstrad 1512 & 1640 were about to come out and make GEM as
popular as it was ever going to be. Windows was at version 1.03 (I've
still got the 5.25" floppies!)

No...it's not out of date. I really wish you didn't jump to conclusions.

I'm using the stats from TheCounter.com. Perhaps they don't have much in the
