@ Dan Mack: Nice Sprites. Which version will they come out in?

@ Oz: I never reached the Stratosphere. I was always the satosphere.
Andthe small pipe-stacks - saw them a lot in the steel mills in India.

LA - Las Vegas:

One I didn't know about, in Pittsburgh:

The above three have received federal design funds of almost $1billion, so have some chance of maybe becoming real. The rest I mentioned are closer to pipe dreams.

All have design studies and, more particularly, art of what the trains would look like. So we could actually model them in something resembling realism, at least as much as the HSE Sunset!
... and all of those three are based on the Transrapid. so the sprites are already done

@Oz: very nice steel mill stations !!!

No, MB won't let us just use the sprites, we have to redraw them. They're in a different livery anyway.

'Kay. I added some pipes and chimneys to the depot. It's a pretty subtle change, and personally I could live with or without them. I'm going to leave it up to you guys. Waddaya think? Keep 'em or ditch 'em?

I'm not adding any piping to the new steel crane depot. I've looked over pictures on the web, and it seems the most modern mills don't have their pipe-works exposed, except for the big furnaces.

Cheers!

If anything, I would say you should have that little chimney repeated several times. Without it, the shed looks too regular.

if you repeat that chimney, it looks bit too repeated...1 chimney is fine imo.

Well, maybe there's some other cruft you could add up there - pipes, hatches, ventilators, I dunno. I just think it should look more cluttered. But it looks great as it is.

Hey, I got another question. Can you design it like MB's passenger stations, which show more passengers as there are more waiting? I mean, you could show coils of steel stacked higher and higher as the amount waiting grew.

Eh? It's not a lot of drawing - just draw one steel coil, then cut and paste more of them.

Theres A LOT more to be done on it than that if you do a steel coil on a steel coil.

Well unless you want objects that are not shaded properly, no.

Hey, I found a possible bug in the set.

In my current game, there is a steam train which is 100mph (it's black =]), sorry if I can't describe it enough, I'm on my laptop.

But anyway, when I try to build the steamer, instead the train that appears after buying is a silver loco. I recognize it as a passenger loco. I'll try to get an example screen up if possible...

That's no bug, that's a Hudson. The early Hudsons were black, and not streamlined; but then they designed a streamlined shroud for them, which they used with the 20th Century Limited.

Oooh I see. Sorry, it just seemed like I was building a totally different loco to the one I wanted. Strangely, if I try to build one the second time I get the black one. Hm. That's probably got a simple explanation too.

Yes, it's random. The locos are really the same underneath, they perform alike, they just look different. And the silver one gets matching cars.

Hey B52 or KRTAYLOR, can one of you send me the sprite set for the DASH-9? If so that would be great, thanks.
