ChrisCF, When the NL set was popular and dandy you happily accepted the role of 'the hero who saved everything by providing sufficient bandwith', but now that things are getting dirty you not only turn your back on us but also want a cut now that the M word has been mentioned (the M word being 'money')
Bah, this entire situation makes me sick (actually I already am sick all week but that has nothing to do with this). I really feel like just leaving this mess and going to spend my valuable time and skills on another game or project that hopefully has a community of people that don't turn their backs on you when the going gets though.
Anyhoo, thanks a million to those who have given scrat and me their support. You guys are the reason why I still feel at least moderately good about the time I spent creating the NL set.

If he wants to make money, that's his choice, but he's not making money off my free service. If he wants to make money from my services (including advertising his paid-for product), then he can pay me for the privilege.oppie wrote:ChrisCF, When the NL set was popular and dandy you happily accepted the role of 'the hero who saved everything by providing sufficient bandwith', but now that things are getting dirty you not only turn your back on us but also want a cut now that the M word has been mentioned (the M word being 'money')
The NL set can still have hosting for free if nobody on the team is profiting from it, or any related project. This means getting scrat to change his mind or dropping him from the team. I think the set is great, and I'd like to see this set develop further. I think it would be a shame if you let scrat get away with killing the project.
Incidentally, the offer is open to any other freeware project. If you're working for free, I'll provide download bandwidth for free.

ChrisCF, I believe what scrat was planning to do was not actually advertise it on the free space you provided him with.
He said that NL set would still be free and available, and you've now blown it from anyone wanting to download it... maybe you would be kind enough to allow access to it again but remove anything concerning advertisement - or maybe ask for a premium for advertisement. You can get hosting for £2 (or just about) that'd let you put as much advertising on there as you want... so if someone else was willing to pay that, would you be willing to re-upload it?

I've made my views clear. I'm not the one you should be asking. It really does hurt me to do this, but it has to be done.David J wrote:He said that NL set would still be free and available, and you've now blown it from anyone wanting to download it... maybe you would be kind enough to allow access to it again but remove anything concerning advertisement

I see Owen hasn't canceled my account yet, so one more response then. I understand your position, although I'm fairly certain you misunderstood mine. All NL Pack files are now hosted locally on my own webspace and will remain there; locomotion-fanpage.net will also be granted full hosting rights.ChrisCF wrote:I've made my views clear. I'm off to play Need For Speed - Underground 2. In the coming months I'll decide if return or not. My enthusiasm for Locomotion and my affinity with its community has been ground down to zero in 24 hours -- and I hardly ever got to actually play the damn game at all.
So long and thanks for all the fish.

This is becoming the biggest joke in history, I've read different topics today, scrat you're hard to decypher
Leave if you want, stay if you want, but please make up your mind
The last days have been bad for our community, I won't point to anyone specific, but it has been a lot of pot-kettle-black if you ask me

No way, let it cool down for a momentd00mh4mm3r wrote:At this rate, we may as well have a topic for ppl who wish to argue at some stage in tt-fourms, rather then in bunch of different topics
Don't make it worse.
There are other ways to solve this.

It is really sad this, I maybe considered as an Ex forum member, but I am still alive and well. I do come in and take a look at this part of the forum. I know I haven't created anything in a while and I almost have given up (for the moment). The sad thing is that a tallented creater, who's vehicles I have used for many places in my Lomo games is going to end because of this big sillyness. To be honest, some who I feel have no position to be here would of gone ages ago, then we all could of breathed easily.
Scrat, I feel sorry for you (in a positive way), because being in a simliar position, I know how you feel. I would like to help you, if you are interested, I could have a talk with Mr Bishop (Flamerail.... he hosts my site) to see if he can host your site for you. I am sure he won't mind about payware issues either, because his site is part freelance and payware. I will only ask him if you are interested and I do believe there will be little strings attached to the deal. Certaintly far less strings than ChrisCF offers!
Your work will always have a place here, so will you, because after all, you have done a lot here, some of us who have contributed should be looking at you with envy (I do, but I am working part Lomo ant part Trainz, so things are difficault for me!). What ever you choose, all I will say is good luck, I am sure you will go to somewhere where you enjoy working the most and with 90% less hassle.
I'd am sure some of us would like to keep in contact with you, because there are some really supportive people here, I would send you a PM, but since I understand you are not answering them, I decided (wisely?) no to.
Again, good luck which ever path you choose.
