Re: Need MSTS for VC
To the best of my knowledge: No.

Re: Scrat for UK Designer
Too busy. Best let the UK set be a group effort. I hereby donate my UK vehicles to anyone who wants to lead that particular project. (Just credit me for pushing a couple of buttons in VC or something :-) ).
So long and thanks for all the fish.

You will need MSTS to get things working properly. None of the models will require it, but you may want to squash the length of the models by 30% to fit the Loco scale, and the one tool that can do that (mentioned somewhere, will probably be mentioned again) requires one of the tools that comes with TS. Of course, it's a simple job to simply extract the files from the CD, so if it's not installed at the time you don't need to spend an hour setting it up.

You can do it without the tools, but be aware that things will typically look out-of-proportion with everything else (not to mention needing 3-4 tiles for a single carriage - alright if you plan on nothing but 153s).
