Looks great!

459, how's cumulative coding coming? Don't we have individual GRFs of everything, so we just need to combine it all into one and release it?

Coding comes when I have time. Time isn't very plentiful right now but do not be afraid: Most likely my summer holiday will begin in end of month which means that I have more than enough time to sort things out.

I think the crate should be visible below the north- and south-bound Chinooks. Other than that, it looks pretty good.

@Dalestan

I am thinking about. I just haven't found the right inspiration how it should be done. If I have enough time at work tonight I will try it.

Ok here is the Version with the crates in north and south direction. There was also a failure with some of the sprites, again..., I fixed that also.

@Taylor

about the Lufthansa Cargo Livery. The Lufthansa Cargo Livery has only one slight difference to the passenger livery. It says Lufthansa Cargo instead of Lufthansa.

Image
Lufthansa Cargo Livery in 1998.

Lufthansa Cargo was knows as German Cargo Services GmbH until it merged with Lufthansa in the mid 90ties. German Cargo was foundet by Lufthansa in 1975.

A very good Link to the History of Lufthansa Cargo: http://airlines.afriqonline.com/airlines/726.htm

A very interesting Livery would be the DHL Livery. DHL is owned by the Deutsche Post (German Postal Service). 2 years ago DHL became the german packet service. When you send a packet in an Deutsche Post Office it will send by DHL. The Deutsche Post merged its own Deutsch Post Packetservervice with DHL in Germany.

Seems to be the actual livery.

Yeah, DHL is everywhere, I remember getting a parcel from the US from them in a day, and charging me £40!

Now they are just everywhere.

Here's the 747 and 747 EUD (747-100 and 747-300/-400)

I've added the Lufthansa livery to the 747, and removed all sorts of magic colors from the KLM, UPS, and Flying Tigers liveries.

The EUD has the same liveries, except that there's no Virgin Atlantic Livery.

The EUD can now also carry oil.

This file *replaces* 747-100[w].grf that I uploaded earlier.

As before:
each plane randomly selects one of CC or OL when purchased. If you wanted the other, sell it and try again.

Most of the liveries are always available; if some should not be available before/after certain dates, just let me know and I'll fix it.

The text file with the source is in lieu of comments in the NFO.

Just because I've posted a GRF does NOT mean that the included liveries are set in stone. It's not hard to add/remove liveries, nor to adjust when each livery is available.
@459: The latest D0xx text hasn't changed, but it's now sprite 337. If you can't read RAR, let me know, and I'll post the (50% larger) ZIP instead.

@Spaceball: Were you planning to draw bladders under the Chinook too?

I do not think there are any aircraft that are remaining to be drawn. There are some aircraft for which we have only company-color version, no original-liveries, but that will not hold up release.

We are doing some final coding refinements with the advanced helicopters; adding some recently rendered 747s and other big jets, that look better; and testing the costs, which is really difficult.

459 has said he will be busy for a couple of weeks, but then will be able to assemble all the test-GRFs into the one main set; at which point, I think we will release it.

may i ask for help??

Post by Bernhard »

Hi Planeset-Team.
First, great work.... :-)
I’m trying to code a big Zeppelin, the german CARGOLIFTER. Graphics are done, but i have big problems doing the Action0 – Code.

That‘s what i wanted to code:

-1 * 38
00 -Action0
03 -Plane
0E -14 changes
01 – one plane to do changings
00 – first set (of two)
00 00 00 – date of introduction (from beginning the game)
06 07 – all climates
08 FF – new sprite
09 00 – is helicopter
0A 00 – not large
0B 10 – cost factor (not jet the right....)
0C 87 – speed, 135 km/h
0D 01 – acceleration (don’t know which value would be right, must do by try and error)
0E 10 – running cost factor
0F 00 00 - passenger capacity
12 06 – sound as propeller
11 FF – Mail capacity should be the highes value, FF=256
13 01 05 08 09 – Cargo types (best would be every cargo except passenger, lifestock and oil. Capacity of the cargolifter is 160 tonns!
15 00 - refit cost

The grf is loaded well, the cargolifter is flying, but the coded values are not shown.

Please, can anybody help me??

looks like that in game:

That I seriously doubt!
Bernhard wrote:00 – first set (of two)
ITYM "First ID", and what's this "(of two)" thing?
Bernhard wrote:0A 00 – not large
Unnecessary; choppers are never "large".
Bernhard wrote:0C 87 – speed, 135 km/h
That's "speed in (mph*8)": 0x87 (mph*8) = 135 mph * 8 = 1080 mph.
Bernhard wrote:12 06 – sound as propeller
Unnecessary; this property is ignored for choppers.
Bernhard wrote:0F 00 00 - passenger capacity
11 FF – Mail capacity should be the highes value, FF=256
FF=255
If pax is not an acceptable cargo, the plane will be purchased refitted to the first available cargo. This convolutedness is unnecessary.
Bernhard wrote:13 01 05 08 09 – Cargo types (best would be every cargo except passenger, lifestock and oil.
That's a bit mask; the wiki was wrong. OR together values from the bit-value column instead.

That's one massive Zeppelin. krtaylor; should that be added as a cargo livery for one of the Zeps? Or would that unbalance the game?
