General poll:
Which of the 747 liveries should I use? I can code any number of them with pretty decent control: random, date-dependent[0], cargo-dependent, refit dependent[1], or any combination of the above. We may as well answer this question for both the CC and OL versions of the Planeset.

Airliners.net reports that the 747-300s and 747-400s are externally similar, except that the 400s have winglets. So, unless anyone has any objections, I'll code the 400 sprites into the 747-300 slot[2] and the 100 sprites into the 747-100 slot.

[0] Both date-of-purchase and current date
[1] Like what I used for the Ruslan when it carries goods.
[2] Do we want to change this to 747-400? If so, are there any stats that need to be changed? *rummage* Oh, my. The 400s came 5 years after the 300s did. This will ... change things.

We do NOT want to make it the -400, for exactly the reason of those 5 years.

My thought would be either to randomize the liveries (except of course using cargo liveries when appropriately refitted), or to make them refittable options.

I just recoded the Graf Zeppelin, because I wanted to get it to use the small sprite in the vehicle details window, and I came up with a way I thought it could be done. I don't think it's an improvement, but I'll let you folks take a look.

Changes:
- Uses the shrunk sprite in the depot, vehicle list, and vehicle details window.
- East-bound sprites do not receive CC-conversion.[0]
- No shadow appears when flying East.[1]
- If the Zep ever stops (eg for loading or unloading) while facing east[2], it will shrink.

As usual: *After* the PlaneSet, also, after Zeppelins beta 1, if you're using them.

For those who are interested, I moved the Zeppelin sprite into the rotor for east-bound; this way the small sprite is used when the "rotor" would be stopped, and the large sprite when the "rotor" would be moving. However, rotor sprites apparently don't receive CC-conversion, so the Zep is in dark-blue livery when east-bound.

[0] I can fix this in the depot and purchase list, but it'll take a patch change to fix the vehicle list, vehicle details window, and *main view*. This will not be an issue in the OL PlaneSet.
[1] I think I can fix this, but I haven't checked.
[2] This cannot currently happen, so this is nearly moot.

Maybe they let some of the air out? :D

I hope 459 integrates this too. We want to release ONE single GRF with everything in it, to avoid confusion.

As I said, I don't think this new Graf is an improvement for the CC PlaneSet, but if the consensus is that it is, I'll code the Hindenburg the same way. I do think it will be an improvement for the OL PlaneSet.

To that end, I went and removed all my old GRF files from this thread.

Originally the idea was to have two separate planesets, but now I think it would be better to have just one, with a switch that lets you select the default, but you can always "refit" a plane into any other available livery.

Are the two UA liveries an earlier and later livery? If so, when should new planes start being painted in the later livery?

ISTR discussion about FedEx repainting the Flying Tigers into FedEx livery. Should I make the FedEx livery start replacing the Flying Tigers livery, and if so, when should that switch be made?

I have redone the Chinook with the container. Is the s/w angel correct now or is it still a pixel to less?

EDIT: @taylor

I tried to download the public release and it seems that you can't. Maybe the link is wrong on the Planeset page.

Yes, it was. That was your email I got?

It's fixed now, BUT note that the version there is quite old. I don't update it with all the work test versions.

@Taylor

I haven't send a email. Maybe someone else. I wanted to try it because the version I have is much older than this one.

Spaceball, the distances look pretty good, but the containers don't look like they're the same size.

Any possibility you guys could make a rotorless "helicopter" for the post-2000 era (As in, it shows up about the same time as monorail)? That would be very cool and useful. I'd draw art for it, but my artistic skills are, shall we say, not the best.

No. Reason? We have no more slots. We've used them all. Sorry! The Osprey has to make do as the future helicopter, for as long as you play the game (as the last few plane don't ever get discontinued.)

Why not to put it on the same slot as the exicsting helocopter and make the diff with prop 72?

It's a possibility, but that requires finding two choppers that are pretty similar. Availability dates[0] (as long as they're at least contiguous, if not overlapping), load rate, and possibly capacity can be different, but price, speed, running cost, model life, and reliability decay must be the same. Patchman is planning callbacks for price and running cost, but until the refit doesn't come until after the vehicle is built, at which point price adjustments are moot.

[0] I've done this for some of the 747-100 liveries. ... On that subject, I need to post that GRF sometime[1]. I tried to pick realistic dates for the livery changes, but Airliners.net doesn't seem to be particularly helpful in that department.
[1] I'd like to decide what (if anything) I'm going to do with the 747-400 sprites first, though.

missing... no but i would fell in love with your plane(s) of there would be a "LUFTHANSA" (german airline) version ^^

@Ro(V)eO

The Planeset ist still in development. When I am finished with the Chinook I think I glue the "Kranich" on one of the Planes. It depends when I am ready with the Chinook, that will take some time, and if I get the permit from the plane artist. You could contribute a plane in Lufthansa livery. What about the 747 with Lufthansa livery?

Yes. Let us ask patchman to focus his efforts at callbacks ;) And you cann add several models that are different, give them the same values, and fix them as soon as new callbacks appear.

[1] I'd like to decide what (if anything) I'm going to do with the 747-400 sprites first, though.
Well, I seem to have decided not to do anything with the -400 sprites, so here's the 747-100, with all of Aydan's liveries, plus CC-conversions for two of them (NW and UPS). I decided I wasn't going to deal with providing refit options for CC vs OL[0], so each plane randomly selects one of CC or OL when purchased. If you wanted the other, sell it and try again.
Most of the liveries are always available; if some should not be available before/after certain dates, just let me know and I'll fix it.

This 747-100 can carry oil; the ones from the PlaneSet cannot.
Its nose should not open when carrying pax or when refit as a tanker.

The text file in the source zip is in lieu of comments in the NFO.

I can produce CC-only or OL-only versions on request, but I got the idea that krtaylor wants to move toward a single PlaneSet with both CC and OL liveries.

[0]There are already 29 refit options for the OL version; I really don't want to add the 13 CC options.

Just because I've posted a GRF does NOT mean that the included liveries are set in stone. It's not hard to add/remove liveries, nor to adjust when each livery is available.

@459: If/when you fold this in, sprite 26 from the Ruslan should not be used, as it is made redundant by sprite 165 in this file. Keep track of that sprite; I'll continue to update it as necessary.
